What wasn't captured, was the ball actually bounced off screen, away from the goals, then turned sharp right and went straight thru!

I have watched a lot of football in my life and I have never seen a more freakish goal ever. How it bounced in I will never know.

Unbelievable goal, one of the most bizarre I have ever seen.

Thanks for putting that up. I have seen a kick for goal (Rocky Roberts?) that bounced on its point just in front of the behind line, reversed and went sideways, and then on the second bounce went forwards for a goal, but by the looks of it this one might top that.

There's a piece of the story missing between pictures 8 and 9 that makes it a bit confusing how it wound up on Vlatko's boot. Did Sturt #18 fail to connect with the fist on the handball, with the result that the ball fell to the deck, or did the handball bounce off his team-mate's chest; or something else? Is the original TV vision available somewhere?

Cheers,
Simon.

I was on that side of the ground as well, and I thought the kick out of the air was spectacular! Then came the bounce!

during a glenelg/port game at alberton i think 2 years ago biasci had a kick to the top of the square as the half time siren went the players stopped the ball bounced high & at right angles & went through for a goal (yes it was poor defence by us)

it was not as unusual as vlatkos but it was freaky

I rate Damon White's goal against Port in 2004 as the G.O.T.M.- 90-100m
