the grand final should be on the saturday....thats my personal view anyway. It will be interesting to see if it affects the winning teams celebrations. ie. how long they go for on a sunday night.

It is NOT one week later than normal actually.

The AFL GF has and always will be scheduled on the LAST Saturday of September (in this case Sept 30). The SANFL GF is always one week after the AFL GF, nothing to do with where long weekend falls.

Not sure what the rule is for Labour Day, but if its always the 1st Monday of October then this will happen again next year.

For those of us that have an annual gathering, it's also Bathurst.

You're right HBT, the 1st will be on theMonday (labour day), So the AFL GF will be on the long week end, and ours will be a week later, perhaps the SANFL need to look at alternative arrangements for next year, if it has to be kept on a Sunday, it would be better to finish a week earlier and play the GF the day after the AFL, still giving our GF sides the monday to recover after celebrations
