Seemed to work when Roy Laird took over from Alistair Clarkson, so why not?

not this time, Glenelg simply don't have the players that are up to SANFL standard at the moment.

Keep him. Sign him to a 30 year contract.

Despite the fact that he is a very odd cat, the pure fact that he can't coach gives you the answer. No.

Exactly. Glad we sorted that out.

He and the club have me perplexed ? GFC sacks Mickan mid season, when they should have waited until the season's end. I'm sick of seeing people still banging on about his departure. He was a good coach who turned the club around, but ultimately cracked under finals pressure.

Massie however is something out of the box. A massive clean out by coach and club have left us depleted, and the laughing stock of the league yet again. Unless he has some sort of masterplan up his sleeve that goes into effect in the next Round, he and the club should do the right thing and part ways. Having said that, who would really want to coach the Bays in this current incarnation ?

Not close enough to offer an opinion except to say I greatly admired Mass as a Norwood player and thought he would make a good coach.
Hard to know if Jesus could improve the Bays.

No good sacking the Coach without having a better alternative

and lets face it, as the Board found out last time, no one who wants a long lasting Coaching career will EVER coach Glenelg FC while we get rid of coaches so quickly if improvement isn't instantaneous.

Have you forgotten 1992 to 2005???

Massie needs experienced people by his side who can give him some guidance and time to develop the young squad he has.

Everyone was warned at the start of last year it would take time to get the playing group to be competitive and playing finals.

Glenelg supporters should realise the more they call for the Coach's sacking the more they are hurting the name of the Glenelg Football Club.

We are not a joke to the SANFL public because we are bottom, we are a joke to them because ONCE again Glenelg "supporters" want to sack the coach

my 2c

Can't agree there, his walkout on the eve of the finals (as an AFL listed player) and his phoned in petulant displays when he was solely aligned to us always rankled with me.

Glenelg are welcome to him IMHO.

Disagree. I don't ( and many other Bay faithful ) think he can coach ! Far too esoteric in his approach for my liking. We were told by the GFC and Massie that this was going to be an exciting season for the Glenelg Football Club. Massie announced that he had the squad he wanted, and also sprouted that " we are in a much better position than where we were last year ".

And yes...I remember the years 92-05. I had to perform at the CDFC first grand final celebrations in one the years we finished bottom. Great days indeed !
