One can only assume he had a difference of opinion over certain matters. No idea what they could have been.....
A very matter of fact press release.
I'm glad we just made a decision in the best interests of SA Football.

When did he get appointed? Less than 12 months?
Maybe told he would need a pay cut to go with the revenue drop from 2014 and beyond...

I think he started in January 2013.

I have no doubt that an SANFL CEO role isn't an easy gig.
Relatively crap pay, small budgets, small number of employees, diminishing client base, regulatory compliance (ie. SANFL incompetence and AFL interference), etc, etc.
These days it's almost needs to be someone who's passionate, has the skills and sporting, marketing and entertainment background, but doesn't need the financial reward.
Oh, how to find such people?

They didn't sell their soul. If they didn't do what they did, they wouldn't be here at all.

The league made the mistake of letting Woodville in in the first place. The Eagles gave up too much. Should have called themselves Torrensville not the Woodville West Torrens FC what a mouthful.

Well, if you believe those telling the story in the media, it's about saving the SANFL

That's exactly what I thought, Torrensville would have been good.

Opening up another can of worms here but I don't know why you'd call the club 'Torrensville' when that's only one suburb amongst a couple of dozen in our zone, and the club only plays there once every couple of years.

It's a play on words, Torrens obviously from WT and the ville from Woodville .
Put together and u get Torrensville , not talking about the suburb.
I'm not opening any cans.

I wouldve thought he meant it in a way that would see Torrensville being half Torrens, half Woodville
Torrens/Ville
But then I've known Fourth Estate for years and understand his dribble more than most

*edit* D'OH! beaten by BOP!

They could have gone with Woodens then.
DB would love calling that on RPH: "Big kick from that Woodens leg through the high diddle diddle. Did you see who that Wooden player was Smithy?"
