Player and team stats up. Bit of a log jam in the race for the double chance in the reserves.

A couple of hidings but more so they've won two games by a point, so their 10-7 record and 49.9% could easily be 8-9 and 49.9% but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Bit rare though that the two worst teams for average losing margins are second and fourth.
SANFL now lowest-scoring in over 50 years?

To cut a long story short, I've been keeping rolling stats on every game played since the days of FootySA, back in the early noughties. This round, for the first time ever in that time, the average SANFL team score (measured as a rolling mean over the previous season's worth of matches) dropped below 80. For a while there around the mid-00s, SANFL was higher scoring than the AFL (when the flooding fad was at its height), but that hasn't been the case for a long time now.
I daresay goals haven't been this scarce in the SANFL since at least the 1950s. What's going on to make SANFL games lower and lower scoring?

It should pick up again next year; Collo's going home.

Wouldn't happen too often that come the final round of the year, a given side (or 2, 3 or 4) could either miss the finals completely, or grab the double chance. Some prospect it might happen this year in the ressies. Crazy-arse stats on that premiership table, even with an increasing gap between top and bottom compared with the middle of the year when you could throw a blanket over the whole field. The bottom side has still won more premiership quarters, than either of the top 2 sides!

Perhaps we could rename them as 'spoon quarters' then?

No, 'spoon quarters' more properly refers to Glenelg's trophy cabinet.

Yes and the Sanfl website had the Eagles as 24.25 against South, now it is fixed.

But they have to lose some time, maybe against the Eagles?
