The good thing about this setup for the Eags though is that you know if you win, you're guaranteed a QF against a side you just beat! (Hawthorn in the AFL were in exactly the same boat on the weekend, vs Sydney.)Aerie wrote:... The big loss means we'll need to beat West next week or Central will finish top 3, having caught up about 17 of the required 20 goal percentage this weekend alone.

Mr Fuller wrote:Personally I just think it showed Norwood have more depth.
Norwood have quite a few first choice players out. Eagles also have a massive number of players out. What is crucial is how both teams responded. Norwood showed they could handle it more than us.
Unfortunately for the eagles I think our midfield has finally been stretched to the limits and with Dunston now out for the season it will be difficult to see how we can take that step forward we need.

mal wrote:I'm very confused at the Eagles game plan today
At 3/4 time it was
EG 3-8
NW 8-11
Total 11-19
There was a breeze favoring the Eagles in the last qtr
There was a sum total of 1-5 into the breeze and 10-14 kicking with it
The question has to be asked when a team is 33 points down at 3/4 time:
Why were the Eagles stacking numbers in defence, and at times not one man in the forward line in the last quarter?
The Eagles did the same in the 2nd qtr , but were only 23 points behind , so I can understand if they sticking to a game plan of sorts
But the last Quarter ?
