I agree Jim, we had at least 8 players out

Excellent win by Norwood, a clear class above all the others at the moment.

Great to see 3,681 at Woodville. Thanks to all who turned up.

Big crowd, perfect weather. Norwood far too good. Hard to see how we'll be able to match it with Norwood or West. The big loss means we'll need to beat West next week or Central will finish top 3, having caught up about 17 of the required 20 goal percentage this weekend alone.

The good thing about this setup for the Eags though is that you know if you win, you're guaranteed a QF against a side you just beat! (Hawthorn in the AFL were in exactly the same boat on the weekend, vs Sydney.)

Eagles before the bye in reasonable form, after the bye back to the inconsistent pathetic performances we can do without.
Norwood miles too good .Might as well engrave the trophy now

Eagles very incompetent today, never looked like getting into the match.

Well done to Norwood, gave us an absolute football lesson today.

Young Orazio Fantasia impressed today, including that ripper goal in the final term.

I'm very confused at the Eagles game plan today
At 3/4 time it was

EG 3-8
NW 8-11
Total 11-19

There was a breeze favoring the Eagles in the last qtr
There was a sum total of 1-5 into the breeze and 10-14 kicking with it

The question has to be asked when a team is 33 points down at 3/4 time:
Why were the Eagles stacking numbers in defence, and at times not one man in the forward line in the last quarter?
The Eagles did the same in the 2nd qtr , but were only 23 points behind , so I can understand if they sticking to a game plan of sorts
But the last Quarter ?

Personally I just think it showed Norwood have more depth.

Norwood have quite a few first choice players out. Eagles also have a massive number of players out. What is crucial is how both teams responded. Norwood showed they could handle it more than us.

Unfortunately for the eagles I think our midfield has finally been stretched to the limits and with Dunston now out for the season it will be difficult to see how we can take that step forward we need.

To be fair to the Eagles, it was a good toss to win .. Buggerall breeze by the last quarter!

Excellent crowd, Eags have worked hard in their community imho and good to see them get their reward.

No doubt the breeze died down by the last quarter
EG were disadvantaged

Probably didn't need to change their vote to replace two players they rarely see. They'll romp it in this year. :(

Still struggling with modern day football mal.

I have to agree with Mal there TSG
If modern day football means not playing anyone inside your forward 50 and having loose men in defence whilst kicking with the breeze then give me olden day football anytime.
I was staggered by the Eagles tactics today, they are a better side than that

Was at the game today with my eagles supporting father, and was pretty disappointed with the eagles effort. Their skills under pressure were ordinary! If that's the sort of crud they are going to serve up in the finals good luck to them!!!!
