I wasn't sure where to post this unfortunate news.
FORMER West Torrens and Brisbane Bears footballer Troy Clarke has died, aged just 44.
The Brisbane Lions released a statement informing of Clarke's passing on Monday but did not provide a reason.
Clarke joined the Eagles in 1987 and made 64 appearances in his four seasons at Thebarton, mostly playing on the wing.
He was named in the SANFL team of the year in 1989 and two years later returned to Queensland after signing with the Bears.
In 1991, he was a member of the Bears' reserves premiership side and represented Queensland in a State of Origin game against Victoria.
Clarke played 68 AFL games with the Bears before retiring in 1996. Since 2011, Clarke has been the state development manager in Queensland.http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl ... 6749244469
