I saw my first live Grand Final in 1985.

As a neutral supporter, it was a funny feeling going to the 3 in a row between Glenelg and North. It was kind of like deja vu, and in the main the memories have blended into 1.

They were a fantastic, and very firey.

I did start to wonder if Id see a Port premiership, so was very relieved in '88, and 89 and 90 were equally as enjoyable for me.

Other memories mainly revolve around state games v Victoria - 2 or 3 quite close ones in mid 80's umpired by a quote controvetdial umpire -Russo..then the brilliant spectacle in 94. I only saw 92 on tv, but it was also a highlight for me.

Also obviously the 2000, 01, 03, 04, 05, 07, 08, 09,10 Premiership will always bring back brilliant memories of footy park.

Other include

-the premlim final win vs Norwood in 95
-the drawn 9second semi vs Port
-2000 second semi in pouring rain last quarter Stewie Dews goal from the boundary (iirc one of th best goals i have ever seen but i have never seen a replay so have only seen it the once live)
-2000 GF Stewie Dews goal in the third from 55m out
-Marco Bello running goal to start the last quarter in one of the GF's
-The year of the great escape, Sturt in the qualifying, Glenelg in the second bang into a GF
-Ian Callinan in the 2010 GF
-Premiers bar pre match in the early/mid 2000's were mayhem!

35 years &some sturt supporters cant let go of blaming Des Foster.Fair dinkum Sturt were 5goals up at 3/4 time. If you didnt let us get so close in the first place it would only be a charity goal.but they didnt & we won so lets stop blaming others& blame yourself for chocking

Definitely the highlight of Footy Park for me was the state game where Kernahan kicked 10. I went with my dad, my uncle and some family friends and late into the last quarter, tensions high, dad had a sleep. The final siren didn't even wake him up, nor did the roar of the crowd.

Easy to say when you're on the receiving end of the worst decision in SANFL GF history.

For me the 85/86 GFs. As a 9/10 year old, I thought it may be the start of more. 27 seasons and counting FFS. I thank my old man (a Port fan) for taking me to 85.

Other great memories:
86 State game- who was the Vic bloke who ran out of bounds on the wing?
Playing Kanga cricket there at innings change of a SA v Tas one dayer. Reakon the crowd was 500 tops.
Bays smacking Port in round 1 (95?) with David Strooper having us all think he was a decent recruit.
Hawks belting the Crows by 90 odd in 94.
The 01 AFL Semi Final v the smears. Backs against the wall victory. Johnny freakin Barker!
As a neutral- the last showdown was an amazing game to be at.
