How are Eagles/ North fans feeling?

Unlike other years where Centrals have gone into the finals as undeniable favourites - North and the Eagles are clearly the hunted sides...how are fans of those sides feeling about that position?
And do you fear the Dogs or do you think you've got their measure?

Feeling pissed off at blowing top spot and facing the dogs. I honestly think if we bring our best footy we will cover the eagles. Im not quite sure what centrals have up their sleeve.

I have a feeling we have centrals covered this year. Unlike previous years where we were not the best side throughout the year over centrals, this time we have shown we are at least a few goals better. A match against North would be a very close affair but I believe north's gun forwards would have to fire for them to get them over the line. I see their main weaknesses as an ordinary backline and a midfield that might be suspect against finals pressure. I think the eags won't have a problem with port. The team I am really worried about is south. I think they will smash port and in recent years, we have had a few problems beating south. In recent years, even if we have won, it has been a really close affair. They have the pace to worry the eags. I am just hoping we win the first match to put us in the grand final and not have to face south to qualify. They will be a dangerous opponent for all sides in the finals and maybe the only weakness i can see in their team is their finals inexperience.

I'd agree with what you have to say there. I'm a bit concerned with South, but I think Central and North have their measure. Central are a good side, but not the dominant side they once were. North are a bit like South, in that when they're good, they are very good, but we seem to have the game to beat them. Hudson will be a huge boost for their chances. I think it will be a North vs Eagles GF.

It's not a bad position to be in actually. A tough first up game in the finals will show where we are at and whether we have improved on the last two years.

I'll bring out an old football cliche but it sums up exactly how I'm feeling at the moment.
"Just taking it one week at a time"

I'll give you the tip. Eagles and North supporters would be feeling better than us Redleg fans. Our season was over 2 weeks ago!!!!
No offence to Central and Port, but I am really hoping for an Eagles v North GF, and hopefully see South make their presence felt in the finals.

I just hope that North and Central beat each other up, on the field that is. Hoping that it's a draw and that it goes into extra time.

Maybe a majority of the supporters will be shitting themselves because of the thug like fear factor your supposed feral supporters put into the other teams supporters. Lets see how many dickhead centrals fans turn up just looking for a fight like always? Now cue that nerdy dickhead campbell mackinnon who would be now polishing his soap box for a vitriolic defence of the well behaved and misunderstood centrals fans at this point.

For once i actually agree with you wedgie. It's about taking it one week at a time. The Eagles best footy should see a premiership at the end of it but you never know come finals time. South are the real smokies in my opinion they should be too good for Port and then who knows from there. The Eags are lucky with a week off and coming up and then a match against either Centrals or North after they've belted the living suitcase out of each other.

Why polish one up when he could just borrow yours?

Because BPBRB's soap box doesn't get polished, despite all the hard rubbing.

BPBRB, I can tell you now that there won't be any trouble, unless the opposition supporters revert to the extreme antagonisation that has been present for most of the year. As for the match, can't wait! It should be a bloody ripper!

I find it hard to be excited at finals time these days. After the last half a decade, making it all the way apart from the last step - I can't even begin to imagine winning it. I won't be happy, and lose the anxiety, until we're holding the cup.

Seems strange Dissident - but I well remember that feeling, and that's why winning one premiership isn't enough for Centrals supporters like myself.
After all those years of waiting and copping stick about our lack of success - we had plenty to make up for.
And I'm sure you guys do too.
