It’s not hard to imagine there was a clause in there about a national reserves competition, or something similar.

Then we could all be arguing about nothing?

You'd imagine if an AFL Magoos gets put together, that either:

A) There is an out clause for the 2 clubs

Or

B) The AFL would lean or throw a bone to get it done

There's no way the two clubs would be excluded from the national ressies comp against their wishes.

Nor because the SANFL / SA Football Commission says they can't.

Well the commission might deny them initially behind closed doors until palms have been suitably greased, who knows?

Bollocks. As stayed originally say no until a compensation package is worked out.

And as JK just stated.

Let's just clear that up so UK stops posting it.

Just quoting the laws of the game
You can't be this thick.

Do AFL teams play under AFL or SANFL rules when in SA?

AFL Rules. Who’s disputing this. They play under AFL Rules because that would have been agreed when the 1st license was approved by the SAFC. Or for the point of semantics, they play under AFL governance. Ref am bays

Do you actually read any posts or just sit thinking up ways to be insulting and playing to your audience.

To busy looking at afl.com.au and patting themselves on the back for that. :-)

Booney doesn't read the posts in the argument he just take potshots. It's what he does.

Hopefully the lesson has ended and we can all move on.

Nope but safe to say when crows/power entered the league the afl reserves were still going (stopped 1999)

And the fact both the crows/power never competed in it(unused players farmed back to sanfl)

I'm going to assume nobody got out a chrystal ball about what could happen in 20 years.

I'm pretty sure any change in terms would be considered as John states a negotiating point.

Like I stated 15 pages ago.

- the anti-competitive conduct provisions in Competition and Consumer Law Act.

Did Aussie cricketers sign a 15 year commitment to the acb before World Series cricket started ??

If not irrelevant.

The afl arent a private league

Irrelevant

Who is going to take us for being anti competitive ??the afl port or crows

Good luck with that

Port and Crows signed a contract to play in the SANFL until 2028, with an annual review and only the SANFL can cancel the contract so they cannot move without making arrangements/agreement with the SANFL.

I can't believe no one has asked why Tanunda played PNU at Port Wakefield!

This is exactly my understanding of the contractual agreement.

This is true, but there would be nothing stopping Port fielding our academy side in the SANFL and our Reserves in the new AFL Ressies comp.

Once a Reserves league starts up I honestly don’t see Port having a team in any capacity in the SANFL. And to be fair there probably isnt a need to

Spoke to someone at the SANFL and the apparently the contract is clear in that it states reserves team must play in the SANFL. Under definition it states reserves side as must being the players who were on the AFL list and not selected therefore they would need to play those blokes in the SANFL.
