Last year the power took Josh Burgoyne from the Eagles U18s and played him for four games in the magpies, now they have taken Nathan Barkla from the Eagles U18s and are playing him in the magpies tomorrow. No respect for SANFL clubs. They get a preview of what they might be drafting.
Sorry, from a player development perspective that's common sense. Who cares about 18s flags it's about developing future AFL and SANFL league footballers.
To me if either Adelaide or Port want to give a four week opportunity to a SANFL player who is yet to make his league debut that can only be a good thing for that players development, draft chances and when they return to their SANFL club, that club themselves.
I'd rather that than stacking their team with 2-3 de-listed AFL blokes.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
