Rnd 2 - West v Eagles @ City Mazda (Fri N 11/4)

Postby Big Phil » Tue Apr 08, 2014 12:23 am

The Bloods would have been very disappointed with their start to the year, despite still having a few injured players out...

The Eagles had a hard, physical clash against the Dogs but came out on top by just over 5 goals. Will probably still start favourites in this one...

Reserves kick off at 4:45pm

League start at 7:20pm

Radio Coverage on 1197am RPH Adelaide from 7:00pm...

Our defence is very suspect. Grocke out and probably Ainger too helps a bit, but I fear we are going to concede some big scores early in the year. Need to get on top early around the middle and get it played down our end.

Am heading out to this one, taking my brother who doesn't get to many games due to priestly duties interstate. Have taken him to about six games there over the last three years and he is yet to see West lose.
Therefore, tipping West by about three goals.
Oh, I should add that he is a Bloods supporter!

Cheers

Thompson a key out given our shaky defence. Interesting to see Bricknell left in the reserves again.

Eagles have beaten West both times in the last game of the minor round in the last two years when Westies have tanked. 2012 was to make finals and 2013 to make top 3. Not that it mattered in the end! West have definitely had our measure when the teams are at full strength.

Good to see brother of Zac, Tasman, get the call up for his first league game and Dunstan and Huppatz should they play - although would imagine Allmond and Fitzgerald will be the only ins. After all the pre-season planning Godden has needed to make a quick fix with Ainger and Grocke outs.

I'm sure all the 3000 WAFC members (I mean who are you freaking trying to kid here?) can gang up on him.
