Rnd 3 - South v Glenelg @ Hickinbotham Oval (Fri 18/4)

The Panthers have been one of the form teams of the competition in the first couple of rounds while the Bays had a day to forget at Alberton last week in their record breaking loss to the Magpies.

Good Friday football is back at Noarlunga but the change in timeslot, to accomodate television coverage, may have some bearing on attendance...

Reserves @ 12:25pm

League @ 3:10pm

Broadcast - Channel 7 from 3:00pm

Well...I'm tipping a Glenelg win.
They were crucified yesterday, just a little ahead of schedule, and will come back to life on Friday.

I see what you did there and I like it, but I think, as silly as it sounds, that the Bays could get up in this one...

Could - if Stevens parts the Gulf St Vincent.

if the game was on sunday, we might be a chance of resurrecting our fortunes

For a Glenelg win the game should have been scheduled for Easter Sunday..then it would be a Ressurection of some kind..
On formit should be a cake walk for the Panthers..however the games between South and Glenelg rarely go to script.
But Im tipping South to win, and win pretty well.
Everyone on the same page at Noarlunga at the moment, looking pretty good.
I hear a whisper that Peter Rolfe will resume in the Reserves this week after 12 months off with a knee reconstruction, best of luck to him;
in time he'll be a very welcome addition to our forward line.
Go Panthers..

Agree with Big Phil, if South are the real deal they should win based on the previous 2 weeks, however these are the games that historically South have always lost, the games they are expected to win. This is a big game for the NEW South Adelaide.

For me, this will be more about how South Adelaide play than whether or not the Bays respond from their poor showing last week and take advantage of their recent good record at Noarlunga...

It's early days, I know, but I sense there is something different in the air this year with this South group and they could be in for a good year. The test will be this week, although as Scott pointed out elsewhere, they did start a year 3-0 a few back and ended up winning only another 2 games for the rest of the year...

Either South will win by plenty or thier will be a Tigers resurrection and an upset win on the cards. I look forward to seeing what happens this Friday...

the difference in the air at Noarlunga is down here we now have electrified trains and the players aren't getting high on diesel

Glenelg will come out firing but South will win by a few goals.

North threw everything at South in the 3rd by the looks of it yet they responded. Previously the Panthers would have rolled over and got done. Not this time, they are a different breed of Panther this season.

Yeah, you are probably right. There is some real excitement amongst the South playing group and they look like they are actually enjoying playing their footy, working for each other. Some weeds have been cleared out, a fresh coach and gameplan and things are looking good.

The Bays will react accordingly from their shocking, all time, record loss but class should prevail in the end. Brett Eddy to kick another bag, also...
