Players from your club who notoriously go missing come final

Postby Mr Fuller » Thu Sep 14, 2006 6:24 pm

This is always a controversial subject but something well worth discussing. Because the Eagles have been in so many finals in the last 10 years you come to notice certain players who might dominate throughout the year and then go 'missing' when it counts most.

I won't be biased so here are my players from the eagles I want to see lift their performances in the finals.

1. Cicollela
2. Rugolo
3. Passador

We need big performances from these key players if we are to win the GF.

On the other hand players from the eagles who I have found you can count on to give their all in the finals are

1. Colville
2. McKenzie

What about your clubs? Be honest

Hmm, good question, I went back over the stats of our last 2 finals campaign and noone honestly stood out to me.
Hargs only kicked 2 last year in the finals so I thought he might be in the running but he kicked 7 in the Elim final of 2004 so that rules him out.

The one very noticable thing every final is Darryl Wintle always steps up big time, his finals have easily been his best games for us.

That's because your whole senior team is now traditionally missing from the finals full stop? Can't say that about South anymore :(

The choice from South is obvious: Cupido will be missing in the finals.

Weve only really had one finals series with the majority of the current group of Magpies. Therefore none of them really have a extended history as such.

Waterhouse was awful in the last two finals last year. He'll need to step up this weekend.

Poulton had huge finals series in 97, 98 and 99 but last year was poor.

He was in our best for the Elimination Final in 2004 but hasn't been since so I can see where you're coming from considering he's in our best most weeks.
I bet the Dogs give his finger a going over this week.*

cant really think of a Centrals premiership player who hasnt contributed quite abit in at least one finals series, but from our GF's i would say 99% of the Eagles team seem to go missing.

From St.Kilda's point of view, ALL OF THEM!
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Not sure about anyone going missing, but Luke Cowan saves his best for the finals. Schelly also loves Adelaide Oval - 17 goals in his past two matches there!

But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Toby Thurstans against the Eagles a couple of years ago

I think Hoppy was disappointing last year. How dare he just walk off the oval like he did!
