I was just wondering if any of you people out there have heard of them, re- circulating around 79 through 82-83 era?

I was also wondering if anyone is old enough to have hung around these guys back then?

Also these guys hung out with the end to enders, really just want to know if they were a small minority or whether or not thats what the behind the goal lads called themselves.

If you dont mind me asking, how ols were you back in the early 80's?

In the early 80's I was in my late teens, but there were Heiny, Terry (R.I.P.), Darren Page, Ponno, Barry, Barry Phillips, Harry & heaps more. We did some crazy shit, got thrown out of every suburban ground except for Elizabeth, arrested in 1983 with Barry Phillips at Richmond Oval in round 1. I got myself into trouble most times because I used to blow what sounded like a truck horn, which was simply a big brass car horn with the round rubber bellows cut from the end, which I acquired from Gundagai, of all places. One day at the footy, we all dressed like cops & another time, we took party whistles & "clickers" because the opposition supporters complained about our colourful singing & the cops said to tone things down in future, or else. Then there was the mobile corporate box. We wore brown paper bags on our heads one day, mimicking the bloke called Trevor from the show Ratbags. These were a few of the more sedate things. The biggest event was the Magpies on sticks, which was totally blown out of all proportions! Ahhh, they were the days!

So did you feel like a big man when you lot systematically beat up just about every cheer squad in 1981 and continued to terrorize throughout the following years?
You know, I've been holding back for a few weeks now since that guy had his picture posted on here because of his behaviour at Elizabeth. Most of you dog supporters agreed with the public humiliation of this twat but when it all got a bit too much you started bleating about how as a supporter base, you are always victimized.
It's a pity there was'nt the I.T. back in the 80's to bring some of you to the attention of the football public like Wedgie did with that lunatic.
Yes, I know of couple of the people you have mentioned and have had a reasonable repore with them over the years.
I just hope Centurion, you were'nt one of the people that beat on me as a 13 year old kid 'cos you were in a group that was alot older and more plentifull than the one I was associated with.
The Centrals End to enders or Grog squad, or whatever they were called always went out of their way to bully and intimidate opposition cheer squads,unfortunately, I have no sympathy or respect for Centrals supporters because of that.
I'm sure you had plenty of good times but I reckon most of them were at the expense of opposition supporters.

Not a violent person & never was. I am 5 foot 11 inches & 12.5 stone. There were some crazy bastards but we went to the footy to have a laugh & a bit of a shit stir. Thommo, Hiney, Terry etc. are/were easy going blokes, who looked for the lighter side of most situations. But I will admit that some bad shit did happen back then. Things are nowhere as bad as they were in the late 70's/early 80's. If you read any of the BM magazines, you would have noticed that we were very "Pythonish" about most things.

Also a former member of the lunatic fringe squad, and, as with Centurion, I don't have a violent bone in my body. There were only a few idiots who were violent - we disliked them just as much as anyone else, if not more. The CDULF certainly added colour and humour to matches.

Centurion- did Ponno catch up with you today? He had quite a few drinks with us prior & during the game.

I saw Ponno's beautiful bald head off in the distance chatting with a few of The Reds but didn't catch up unfortunately.

I suppose it's easy for you to say being in a group and picking on younger people.
I was kicked in the stomach picking up a flag after the game. I was in a group of about 100 people crammed into 2 rows behind the goals at adelaide oval because your group thought it would be great fun to entirely surround our group. 2 girls had their hands shoved into the picket fence and had them trod on. Cigarette butts the entire day going over our heads into the floggers. Everytime we tried to cheer we were threatened. 3 blokes picking on 1 north guy.....the list goes on mate......the truth hurts doesnt it? and I tell it the way it is!
I probably would have refrained from saying anything at all if it wasnt the fact that we ( along with other clubs cheersquads) were frequently hunted down by your tough group of kiddie bashers!
I'm glad I got out of these sorts of games alive and that I actually got older and bigger and wasnt such an easy target but oh, I forgot, you lot only ever hunted in groups anyway.

This seems like a classic case of guilty until proven innocent. Don't remember the incident, therefore wasn't a part of it.

Yup - cheer squads were different back then...but that was the time wasn't it.
Different society now, and while those actions are regrettable in the past, they'd certainly be regarded as unacceptable today.

Mungo Jerry - on behalf of the CDFC, I'd like to apologise for the fact you were taunted, threatened and hurt when you were 13. I hope you accept our apologies, if that's what you're seeking out of this. I can't figure out any other motive for you to bring up the story in this fashion.

Its OK i've slept with that whole group and i've had this nasty cough and been losing weight for about ten months now the doctor says i should contact em all and let them know he needs to see em . I wonder what that could be about!!
