Eagles players at Qualifying final

Postby gillies8 » Mon Sep 18, 2006 8:45 pm

I really cant understand why the Eagles players would go and watch the Qualifying final. I saw a dozen or so of them wander in and leave at 3 1/4 time and all i can see it doing is reaffirming negative thoughts in their heads. They watched Centrals play good footy to win a final, like they really need to see that again! they would have left with that slight sick feeling in their stomachs. I have no problem with Fuller being there but why the players?

Maybe it was to remind them that finals are played in September not April. Well done Fuller, that would've given them plenty of confidence

I agree with the move if a few players want to go it's their decision.

A few North reserves players at the Reserves Qualifying final. It just depends on the player if its the right thing to do or not.

I would make it compulsory to go. Why wouldn't you go and study what your opponent is doing. I would imagine most players would study players from the opposition anyway, so to be able to see them live would be the best lesson. I overheard a North reserves player earlier in the year at Woodville say he had two Eagles league players to study that week.

A very good move to go. It definitely cannot hurt a team to study their opponents the week before they play them. I know that our guys would do the same thing. Hoping that they will be spectators at the Prelim Final!

Funny thing in the last few years the week before we have played a certain team or teams and they have had the bye or played the day before the coach has been at the ground taking notes .
Both those coaches teams are still in the finals and one is not A Jarman .
So if a Coach can scout the next team why not the players at least they have some idea of what they face the next week .

Funny Sheik
What I meant was that Jarman, was not one of the Coaches seen studying the Eagles in the home and away season this year and last . In fact Laird and Pyeman have been seen a few times at EAGLES games !!

Why would Jarman need to go watch the Eagles?
Its not as though we'll be playing the Eagles again this year.
