PORT
Port Adelaide could unleash mature-age Nathan Rudloff against North Adelaide at Alberton Oval on Saturday.
Rudloff, who captained Tea Tree Gully last year, is a strongly-built 22-year-old who measures in at 182cm and 81kg.
He has been joined in the 23-man squad by Power ruckman Dougal Howard, who was sent back from AFL duty while Ciaran Hollingworth-Hughes and Tom Gray have been elevated.
Utility Louis Sharrad has served his one-match suspension for striking Norwood’s Josh Donohue in Round 1.
Power-listed trio Paul Stewart, Darcy Byrne-Jones and Karl Amon have all been called upon by senior AFL mentor Ken Hinkley.

NORTH
Luckless North Adelaide veteran George Thring will miss at least six weeks after learning he has torn the medial ligament in his knee.
The only Rooster excluded from the 23-man squad named to confront Port Adelaide at Alberton on Saturday, Thring will at least avoid the surgeon’s knife.
‘’He can’t quite get on the park and stay there which is frustrating for him,’’ North football manager Darryl Wintle said.
Midfielder Nick Amato and utilities Josh Gregg and Michael Virgin have also been added to the extended interchange bench.

The Chooks could have a chance in this one given the Power's growing injury list, particularly if the team from last week turns up.

If North can handle Port Reserves players being "unleashed", (luckily his parents didn't call him Rudolf), then they might get over the line. But it will depend on which North turns up.
Round 1 North: Port Reserves by 40-45 points
Round 2 North: Roosters by 40-45 points

Bloody shame for George Thring though, having just come back.

Thiele out. Is he still with the club, or injured?

Cohen Thiele's lining up in the reserves, back from an injury (which I can't recall right now).

Didn't he do that in mid 2014, came back mid last year then injured something else?

I guess it looks like Round 1 North turned up, but only for one qtr. Round 2 North played for the other 3.

Disappointing second quarter by the Roosters, but otherwise managed to keep pace with the professionals. The positives were (a) North could control and dictate the play and (b) when they were down they fought back to make the game competitive, two things which would not have happened last year. The kids and recruits continue to show promise as well.

So there are good signs under Carr's command, and North will look forward to the challenge of taking on the Eagles at the Crows reserves' home ground ( ;) ) next Sunday.

Some baffling umpiring decisions (no influence on the result though) made a high scoring, tall marking and fast running spectacle less of a spectacle.
