WEST
West Adelaide coach Mark Mickan has rushed key defender Adam Hartlett back into his line-up to tackle Sturt at City Mazda Stadium on Sunday.
Desperate not to slump to an 0-4 start to the season, Mickan has named Hartlett at centre-half back after the premiership backman played just a half in the Reserves last round.
‘’He got through OK and trained really well last night,’’ West football manager Andrew Marks said.
‘’He provides leadership and direction in our back half so it will be great to have him back.’’
Former Brisbane Lion Zac O’Brien has overcome bone bruising on his knee to be named on the extended interchange bench, along with possible debutant John Noble.
Noble, the son of Adelaide Football Club Head of Football David Noble, is still eligible as an over-age player in the Under-18 Macca’s Cup but has impressed in the Reserves for the past fortnight.
Measuring in at 179cm and 68kg, Noble – described as a crumbing half-forward – has a twin brother Mark, who is playing in the Bloods’ Under-18 side.
Former Power rookie Daniel Webb has been sent back to the Reserves to play a full game in order to build match fitness.

STURT
Sturt is set to unveil key forward Henry Voigt in Sunday’s clash with West Adelaide at City Mazda Stadium.
Measuring in at a sizeable 195cm and 95kg, Voigt is a strong marking target who originated from the Goodwood Saints.
The 21-year-old posted an impressive pre-season before hurting his knee while water-skiing, which delayed his start to the season.
Voigt has been joined in the Double Blues’ 23-man squad by former Crows rookie Jack Osborn, who trained convincingly after hurting his knee against the Eagles in Round 1.

They followed up their last flag pretty poorly.
In '84 they finished 6th from memory after beating Sturt in the '83 Grand Final. Like this year though, they lost so many players from their premiership side they could do little else.
Just checked the Westies website, their last flag before then was '61, they backed that up with a grand final appearance the following year. They had a healthy little run from '47 to '62 (For West, anyway) 2 flags from 7 grand finals in 16 years. That's a grand final appearance almost every second year on average.
Mind you 1908 to 1927 is like the golden era of Westies. 5 flags from 6 grand final appearances. A flag every four years over twenty years is power house status IMO. I think I read somewhere that a few early crowd records were set in Port v West games. I can imagine the older generation that had their devotion forged growing up in the era 1908 to 1927, would have been reinforced by a younger generation enamoured with the relative success beginning in 1947.
Sorry, a bit side tracked there. But generally you need an era to get tradition happening. Follow it up with another era while those that remember the preceding one are about middle aged or younger, then you get a very healthy following.
Now if Sturt hadn't sacked Keane........
