R12- South v Port Reserves (Noarlunga, Saturday, 1:10)

The two clubs met just a month ago, with the Power Reserves thumping South in the wet at Alberton.

The Power Reserves hold a commanding 5-1 record against South, all of those wins apart from the 2014 prelim being very one-sided. Their mids tend to have the better of our mids.

Hitchcock to miss a month with a hammy, while Cailotto is under a cloud following the North game a few weeks back.

Expecting a crowd of no more than 1100-1200. Noarlunga crowds have been poor this year (Good Friday aside), the game is on TV, some will boycott due to the nature of the contest, and the handful of Power Reserves diehards who may have made the journey will likely opt for the sofa, especially given the Power seniors kick off just after 4pm.

Brilliant scheduling by the SANFL, but at least South get some rare TV coverage.

South will have a stronger side this time as opposed to when we last played only a few ago (!?) however same can be said about the Power. Schulz back will cause headaches and TV seems to effect the Panthers who rarely win telecast games so a win to Power seems likely.

Watch out for the South one-off jumper for this game as it names every player who have played league footy for the club since 1876, 1,750 names are listed on the guernsey. This is in celebration of our 140th year with the jumpers being available for sale after the game.

What a great idea. My wife's Grandpa played a few league games for South back in the 40's or 50's. Will have to find out what number he wore and get one of those replica ones.

At least the weather's always good at Noarlunga.

We will need to be at our best to win this game.

Hitchcock & Cailotto both out which hurts but Irra and Daniel are good ins.

Will tip us just as we haven't lost at home this season!

Expect a good battle here. Both sides know a bit about each other from a very recent meeting. Interesting to see if South counter Ports outside run this time around. We chopped them up on the outside in the last contest.

Could be an old fashion shoot out between Hollywood aka Eddy and Schultz, hopefully Crabby massages Schultz back with his knee throughout the game ;)

Also might be the first time South supporters outnumber Port Supporters since 64.

Nice. He'll need to be close enough to do so though.

64? Nah, there'll be a little more than that there. ;)

Hopefully the 'Thers get up! Well done to my son in making his debut as a waterboy joining his sister who's a trainer there.
Turning into a real family affair for the Wedgies down there! :D

South ressies win by 11 points.

Reckon a crowd of less than 1000 here today.

Good to see South just have players in the circle to sing the song after the game. Shits me to tears that North have every man and their dog singing theirs including trainers, admin staff and board members.

Good win after another slow start. Pleasing to win wearing the heritage jumper, albeit in front of a dreadful attendance.

Liked the games of Bass, Veide, Seccull and Barnes.

Mitchell far and away Port's best.

7 from 7 at Noarlunga. Obviously not enough to draw people through the gates..

Even though Butcher kicked 3 I thought Durdin did pretty well on him

At times Bass seemed everywhere. The cruching tackle he laid in Schulz in the 3rd was huge

Agree on Bass Keefy. No coincidence that South's two losses were when he was sitting on the sidelines.

19 touches, 6 tackles, 5 clearances and a goal to go with 31 hit outs.
