NORWOOD
Norwood star Matthew Panos is poised to play his first game since Round 6 when he lines up against South at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.
Sidelined by a broken wrist, the Jack Oatey Medallist was close to playing last round but has now been injected into the centre square to face the Panthers.
Panos has been joined by midfielder Matthew Nunn and key forward Brayden Denmead, who have been named on the extended interchange bench.
Small forward Simon Phillips’ luckless run with shoulder ailments continues, with the former Sydney Swan the only certain exclusion at this stage.
Premiership utility Ed Smart will play his 50th IGA League match.

Panos in helps a lot, and adds to the host of ins during the last 2 weeks when we've played 6 out of 8 better quarters. Feel sorry for Flipper and sheesh we need him. If we can handle South's spread and carry and find a way to not kick 5 goals 10, then this will be closer than most think. NWD back in the winners' books by 8 points.

Scrappy and being officiated terribly. Norwood look good at times but the usual over use of the handball getting us into strife aswell as the defenders chipping it around.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this win. I felt our season was on the wane after we capitulated to the Eagles last week but getting the two points at Coopers is a good result.

Crowd 1841

It was good to bounce back after an ordinary effort last week at Woodville

Scrappy game, umpiring was to be questioned that's for sure. Number of scuffles throughout. Norwood had a free-kick turned over after Baulderstone dropped Bass in the middle of the ground. Tribunal might be busy this week.

Schwarz stretchered off after getting crunches in a marking contest but was up and about in the rooms after the game.
