Heath Hopwood played in another GF win today when Old Haileybury won
the VAFA's A Section premiership.

From memory, the Gowans played in 4 losing GF's prior to arriving at the ponderosa in 2000, so they are now in their 11th straight GF, having won 5 of the 10 so far.
How many players don't even get to a GF, never mind 11 in a row!

I thought they'd actually played in a number of WINS in a row, not losses.
Didn't the Saints win a reserves premiership while they were there, with Healy?

Well with the AFL's ignorance of anything below the 'Big Show' it's going to be hard to find out who won those reserves GFs, but someone out there would know.

They played with Anglesea from 1995-97 and lost to Ocean Grove each year in the
Bellarine Peninsula league then playe for Werribee as they lost the 1998 VFL GF
to Sandringham.
Three quarter page article on them in today's Herald-Sun.

the Gowan's definitely played in 4 losing GF's in a row prior to joining the dogs,
MR66, not sure how many but I can remember watching the Gowan's play in St Kilda reserve grade losing GF's, it was at least 2 GF's
