For the Profitability and general smoothness in Club operations, it is imperative that the motion for the change to our Footballers Club constitution and merging of the 2 boards gets through.
In order to do this, we need a minimum of 50 members present. I have concerns that we will not have this number there.
Also, the meeting is to be held in the Cricket Club at 7pm, not the function centre as previously advertised.
If you could also post this on the web sites, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Bernie McNamara

Like most people, I don't fully understand what this is all about and didn't plan on attending.
But I have been reliably informed that it actually is quite important to our financial status - could be the difference between signing a couple big recruits or not!
So I encourage as many Glenelg members to get there as possible, it seems to be touch and go whether we get to the 50 member mark - there is also a rumour going around of free alcoholic beverages after the meeting!

As you would be aware, the Footballers Club and Football Club are holding a Special General Meeting tonight at the Club at 7.00pm.
These meeting will be held in the Cricket Club Function Room. We had an opportunity to sell a function in the main room of the Function Centre for 220 people and this is obviously important for the Club.
The previous correspondence has outlined the purpose of the meeting. It is a very important issue for the Club and it is important that members have a clear understanding of the reasons for the recommended changes.
In order for these changes to be approved by the members there is a need for a minimum of 50 people to attend the meeting. I would encourage you to make every effort to be here tonight and have a say in the future direction of our great Club.
Following the meetings the Club we would ask you to stay for a complimentary drink.
Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing you at 7.00pm.
Yours Sincerely
Darren Chandler

Since I can't make it, I have nominated a proxy to vote on my behalf.
Does he also get the complimentary drink on my behalf?

Why don't they just hold the vote at their AGM like other clubs do for things like this, or don't they get 50 to that either?
