Has Sumner, as rumoured, been told by Glenelg that he is no longer a required player? Didn't play in either the League or Reserves on the weekend and is not on the injured list. If he is not required, why did Glenelg not accept an offer of $24 000 for him? They would have at least received something rather than nothing. If he was unavailable on the weekend but is wanted by Glenelg, fine. However, if the rumour is true, why did Glenelg just throw away $24 000?
Cheers

Fair call, big gamble both ways to a guy who no doubt has the talent but could end up back in Div 4 Ammo's by Round 7

With footy heading into June. It will be interesting who leaves before the deadline. What I hear things are not rosey at eagle land and some could be gone in the next few weeks...

Back playing at Gumeracha with his brother. Handy recruit

Kept an eye on Sam's progress as I play cricket again him. Seemed to be last in/first out the past few seasons and perhaps didn't reach the consistency or level of performance his early career promised.

Said he lost the passion to play League footy and was frustrated being in and out of the side.

At his best, one of the Dogs most versatile players but just struggled big time with consistency.

Are younger players leaving Centrals because of a disconnect with the Coach? Laird has been there awhile and his methods may not have changed with a younger generation . Just an observation.

A high influx of player OUTS on the verge of the June 30 clearance cut-off...

Ben Hasen from Sturt
Runee Gilfoy from Sturt
Sean Samblich from Sturt
Sam Hanna from Central
Brock Castree from North
Jake Johansen from Eagles
Mason Middleton from West

A shame to see more players leave the SANFL but it happens most years and is a sign of the times.

Mason Middleton is one that makes you shake your head. He should've been a gun of the comp, mobile, tall, kicked goals. Always a player I enjoyed watching, should've been making a mockery of his opposition.

Hmm...

Train at Centrals 4 days a week for maybe $100 a game
Train at "insert local club" 2 days a week for god knows how much after having an SANFL club on your resume.

Tough decision.

Some teams out in the nearby region have been known to sprouse around 800 - 900 a game top tier talent.

So yeah it's a pretty clear decision for players at the moment.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jake Johansen is playing for eagles 2’s in a couple weeks.
