The midfield is where the game will be won once again. If North can break even they are a real chance. The main danger players I see the Eagles needing to stop are Alleway and Gill up forward, Ivens from the half back line (he can do what Wilson did to us on Sunday), Ryswyk and Bamford on the wings (both of these have been poor against the Eagles in the last two games, but are still dangerous on their day) and Ladhams and Younie who are capable of getting under the guard if all the focus is on the big men up forward for North.

Possible matchups?

Hier on Hargraves
Pedler on Alleway
McKenzie on Gill

Well writtern Aerie for Ivens to do the same as Wilson did to us last sunday ,the eagles would have to fall into the same trap again of kicking to a small forward with two opponents standing them and not look for the lose eagles player. North fan at work told me the same as what I have read here that Gill is not fully fit .And Alleway did something to his shoulder /arm last sunday so is he fully fit and hargraves did not look fully fit either.

While we talk about forward line entries I did notice that both south and north last Sunday ignored the short lead from the small Forward who was free, and preferred to bomb the ball to the taller flying forward in the pack who did not always get the Mark.
But Ladhams at times looked great .

Who would we bring in incase Cooper is still recovering from his corky ?
Will the EAGLES continue to have only Passador and Grocke as Tall forwards with the ruckmen at times.

as has been stated on another thread if NORTH want to really win this weekend then they should be standing outside the EAGLES changerooms and yell out at full voice CCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNTTTTTTRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLSS

before they run out for the warm up.

So we have Dabrowski in for Jacobs who has already been named out of the side. That should give us more flexibility up forward.

I'm not sure I'd play both Rugolo and Potter in the same side against North as they are both a bit slow. I think Potter needs the league match practice because he could be a crucial ingredient should we get through to the Grand Final. Rugolo was hugely disappointing last week so would not surprise me if Potter replaces him. Also, Potter has the smarts to play on Ladhams or Younie and pay close attention to them as well as being a leader in the back line. Something that was sorely missed last week with Pedler being on the bench in the first half.

Knights would take either Lomas or Fairclough's place in the side unless Cooper doesn't recover from his injury. Lomas carries the ball more than Fairclough, so I would pick Lomas to keep his spot, but needs to be surer with his delivery by foot. I'd be tempted to play Lomas on the wing against Ryswyk and have Symmons floating around up forward or as a midfield rotation off the bench.

Treeby and Passador need to make their mark on the game this week. Both have big bodies and need to do some damage and get into the game early. The Eagles club should be hungrier than ever. Five years of hard work comes down to the next two weeks.

I like the look of our side this week. Good to see knighta into the side, pity about bocky damn you crows. Where's Jarad he would have been handy. Most likely to be omitted from that extended interchange would be Fairclough not sure about the other that will be a very tough call. I'm tipping the Eagles 13-24. C'MON YOU EAGLES!!! YOU EAGLES!!!

Hmm maybe this is a candidate as a precurser tothe 'you reds' and "You dogs" chant.

I believe there are documents in the Mortlock library that illustates a visiting Liverpudlian herad this chant at Thebby in the 50s and took it back to the Kop.....
