Good win by Westies last week and get the Crows (like Port) at a good time. Not sure if Adelaide will have an improved or weakened team.
West by 4 goals.

Sad day for the Bloods with Aaron Fielke announcing his retirement today after a shoulder injury on the weekend. Has been a very good club stalwart in his 166 league games and being at the club for 16 years
Enjoy your retirement mate.

The question of the week is who will Issac Rankine play for. Will he play for the State U/18s against the West reserves in the curtain raiser or will he playleague football for the Bloods

Common sense would say the highest level possible, which should rule him out of the curtain raiser......

Unless there’s been some miracle turn around at Adelaide, Westies should pick up another comfortable 2 points
Bloods by 30-35 points

West Adelaide statement
"Disappointingly for our members and supporters Izak Rankine will be unavailable for league selection at West Adelaide this week due to SANFL U/18 Talent Development duties. The Club has worked extensively with SANFL management to allow Izak to represent his club this Saturday against the Crows but SANFL policy dictates that he is required to play in the U/18 State team trial against our development side at City Mazda Stadium.
Several other SANFL clubs are faced with the same circumstance and have agreed to release players currently playing league football for this trial game. The Club has indicated that it will pursue changing the existing policy that does not priorities the players concerned or the SANFL League competition over the National U/18 Carnival.
The WAFC is proud of the development and support of current and past players that has resulted in over 68 players being drafted into the AFL system since 1986. "

What a load of crap. If I was a Westies reserves player, I wouldn't go near him or compete against him. Let Rankine kick 10 goals in a meaningless trial and more importantly, reduce the chance of potential injury.

From what i have seen Izak doesnt need to be playing in a Talent Development side, he like others need to be playing League football for their clubs because a number of them wont be there next year

Misses out on a league game to play an under 18 trial game?
Geezus, just when you thought the SANFL couldn't be anymore ridiculous.
West should be ropeable and I don't blame any fan or official for being furious.

That doesn't matter so much as North are playing the Powers best side of the weekend and will get squashed anyway.

Game Time is 2.40
West Adelaide has included a 2015 premiership player for his first Macca’s League game this year against Adelaide on Saturday.

Three development players – Domenic Costanzo, Ryan Marini and Josh Vandermeer – have been included in the 23-man squad, with Costanzo the most likely to play after being named at half-forward.

It shows how much the SANFL regards it's premier comp, less than an Under 18 trial game.
The clubs need to get rid of these clowns or form their own comp.
