If Seb is right about the lawyers getting involved, maybe those lawyers might want to have a word with him about publicly saying he umpires are rigged

That procedure needs to change in the future imo.

Hypothetically if the eagles had asked for a player count I wouldn't have been surprised if the Umpire had no idea what to do in that situation. It is one of those things that happens so rarely that I doubt the umpires would be well briefed on how to handle it.

Yes, arguably defamatory. Presumably the Eagles’ lawyers would specialise in mergers and acquisitions.

Copy and paste on here

For a period of time during today's game North Adelaide had 19 men on the field and during that time they scored 8 points.... we lost by 5 points ....furthermore the free kick count was 30 to North and 17 to Eagles.... the combination of the '19 man cheat' and the rigged umpiring is a clear sign that the SANFL wanted North to get through in order to maximize grandfinal attendance as woodville has a much smaller support base.... for the SANFL not to correct the ruling of victory is an absolute unfathomable disgrace.... the sway of finances has trumped the basic rules of the great game which so many hold dear.... there are literally no words.... please share this post as many times as possible... there are lawyers looking at the fine print as we speak!

The EAGLES complaining about a FREE KICK COUNT!!!!!!
Comedy GOLD!

One of those moronic things that opposing supporters seem to go on about with zero facts. Yes, of course there is this huge conspiracy when the eagles play. All the umpires get together and plot about how they will favour the eagles

I can’t post the photo but apparently under the laws

7. Interchange

If the interchange steward was notified then he was responsible for reporting it to the main official

Not that it will change the result but another embarrassment for this embarrassing organisation

Antiquated rule which needs to be changed. As Godden said at presentations, for 5 minutes it was mayhem in the coaches box because they couldn't work out how North were continually getting a free player. They wouldn't be expecting to have to deal with an extra player the opposition has put on the field.
Eagles need to overhaul game plan and list as it is fragile in finals. 2nd, 2nd, 3rd and 3rd in the past 4 years shows they haven't learnt what is required to go the whole way.

Agree with all those saying that you can't reverse the decision.
It is, and always has been, a count and nullify the score. It is a good, harsh penalty that reflects the crime or incompetence. There is nothing stopping a team from doing it if they think they can get away with it.
As far as removing the eight points, what if the situation was the other way? The Eagles, inadvertently or otherwise, chucked on an extra defender at a seemingly inconspicuous time, say 10 minutes into the last, for five minutes when they were up by two goals, to take the sting out of North's charge but didn't score themselves?

That’s a bit rich considering North had dominated the prior 30 minutes of the game.

Sorry MrF, can't agree with that. I have known since primary school, 30+ years ago and before I had played any competitive organised footy, the rule and what should happen.
Actually did have it happen a few years later during my teens, the two top teams were playing, we kicked with the wind and were four goals up just on quarter time when the count was called. We still ended up winning easily despite kicking into the wind for two out of the remaining three quarters.

On the game itself, the most amazing thing was it was never really close, maybe except for a brief period when the Eagles were up 10 goals to 8 and fought to then score the next one, Other than that, it was a tidal wave both ways. North went from 3 goals down to 3 up without any real scrap from the Eagles

I think you'll find that the Eagles kicked the first 3 goals of the 3rd quarter and North had that last 15 minutes.
Eagles still lead by 20 points at 3/4 time, but yes North had momentum at the break. If they didn't have 19 players at the start of the last quarter and controlling the game, maybe the Eagles get the first goal and go 26 points up and it changes the game again

It’s arguable. Eagles 20 points up at 3qtr time. First 5 minutes of last quarter North have 19 on the field. In that time they get it back to 12 points and have all the momentum.
