Why am I underwhelmed.
This is the worst one yet. Why can't it just be Elizabeth Oval?

Speaking of, it didn't take South long to sell out their naming rights after previously being on their high horse about naming the ground after a past player instead of a sponsor.
Now Flinders University Stadium will be nowhere near Flinders University.

SANFL tragics: Don't rename our venues!
Also SANFL tragics: Why are our clubs going bankrupt?

As with all renamed venues, I will continue to call them by their original name i.e. Richmond Oval etc

No. It was a rhetorical question. I know we have to prostitute ourselves and sell our souls to make money to survive but I still don't like it.
If i had that sort of money I would buy the rights and call it Elizabeth Oval.

Basically most sanfl clubs are up against it financially- with a couple of pretty obvious exceptions. Any opportunity to generate some income would of course be welcome...Oval naming rites being one of them - as long as it helps pay the bills...

Not arguing with anyone, it's just my view - none of which, I trust, needs explaining. You know, threads being infected with footy politics and all that.

Ground sponsorship a reasonable solution in my view. Multiple pokey venues perhaps not an option for all.

I must admit that new ground sponsor name doesn't do it for me but, I suppose if I can get used to our League's previous naming rights going to an American multi national slop merchant then I won't lose any sleep.
