The board members , my words, are nominated for specific positions (hospitality, finance etc) and need to have relevant qualifications.

As I understand it, its the same model, that is:

Chairman -
Deputy Chairman -
Marketing Director -
Finance Director -
Hospitality Director -
League Director -
Director -
Property Director

Do all these profits include the $500,000 payment from the SANFL?

I would assume NOT. But it would be good if someone in the know could answer this question.

I think they do. Comes under income (grants). But as an aside they are no longer profits but operating surpluses (tax reasons).

South, West and Glenelg did not get $500,000 last year rather it was given (same amount) over the previous 3 years, hence the reduction in salary cap spend and financial governance (assistance) from the SANFL.

Clubs shouldnt be putting these funds into their financial reporting as it is a once off and does not provide a clear and accurate picture of their core trading. Plus it needs to go straight off debt anyway doesnt it?

Sturt Football Club is pleased to announce it continues to operate strongly off field, with another healthy surplus following on from the last four year’s impressive financial results.

This year the Club has posted a $683,000 surplus. This figure includes the AAMI Stadium land divestment payment and the Building the Blues fundraising campaign.

Sponsorship, Fundraising & Membership remained strong. The Club’s licensed premises, BarZaar traded above budget despite a statewide decline in gaming.

The club has continued to pay down its bank and unsecured debt. Creditors and ATO obligations are all current.

President Jason Kilic said it was extremely important to post the fifth successive surplus but stressed the one offs due to the Building the Blues fundraising campaign and extraordinary AAMI Stadium land divestment payment, the third annual installment of seven’.

“The result is proof of the Board & Management’s goal to ensure the Club is financially sustainable”

“We thank The City of Unley, State Government the AFL and our supporters for their contribution to Stage I of the Unley Oval Grandstand Project and look forward to starting Stage II”, said Kilic.

The Club has appointed ex AFL player Nathan Grima as senior coach who replaces Marty Mattner. In his speech to members Football Manager Chris Trapp noted that in his time at the Club he had never seen the squad fitter.

Kilic said that Board and Management are making the right decisions for the Club but maintained that the Club’s priority was to stay financially in the black.

“We can now boast the best facilities in the league and are incredibly excited about this upcoming season,” said Mr. Kilic.

Absolutely agree. Would think that clubs with less than a $500,000 profit actually lost money but by including it makes the club look better

I hear the dividend was a late item so no its not part of it for this year . Their are other things that have to be taken into account but you woud need someone to understand reading financials. From what I know its a lot more than 183k

are the 8 SANFL clubs receiving $500,000 per annum from the sale of Footy Park?
If so, does the Eagles profit include that dividend?

Looks like the club included $275,000 from SANFL Stadium Divestment in this years Annual Report and expect the following in future years: $275k in Oct 2019, $300k in 2020, $350k in 2021, $300k in 2022. I guess it stops in 2022?

Club also transferred $300k from the Eagles Club to WWTFC, which is what its for, but still a lot of income needed from outside sources to keep the footy going.
