Ah, Joe has been named on the extended interchange for the Eagles.
So, is he in just?

I've seen it all now. Eagles player called to play on, Bay player tackles, umpire tells off the Bays player and waves his finger at him, Eagles player gets another kick.

It was a pre game estimate. Probably swelled to 2,001.

Rumour that the ground announcer at Woodville yesterday said “Let’s give a big cheer & welcome the umpires onto the ground...” as they walked out.
At any other ground I’d be surprised.

With the writing on the wall in our game I tuned into the last 20 minutes of this game. Both are good sides, and the Eagles had their chances in the last quarter to maybe kick a goal further in front than they were, but there was a lot to like about the way the Premiers ran over them. They actually attacked the game and looked like a side with the required level of self belief. Can’t see any non-AFL side challenging them. The Eagles have a tricky draw and might ultimately come undone by their poor start to the season, but at their best they’re definitely in the top 5 sides.

Fair enough, though, they were playing at home.

Enjoyable game with finals like pressure. Lonergan commented at presentations that it was the best SANFL game he had been involved in as a player or coach. Eags had their chances in the first 10 minutes of the last quarter with 6 inside 50's to 1 but could only score 3 points. Glenelg the team to beat, especially with Partington in that sort of form. Bays supporters may correct me here but was Scott the only player out of the best 21?

Disappointing crowd, not sure why.

Sawford and Nicholson will probably also force their way back in when fit.

Partington was a standout. I wonder why he was delisted and not picked up in mid year. Won BF at his WAFL cub. Was highly rated in his draft year.
