The Biggest Battle Today

Did anyone like myself witness the amazing battle between the North banner makers and the wind today?
Unbelievabley insperational stuff, I was almost going to drop my camera and help out.
The showed the other side the great banner, then turned it around.
Then the wind blew up, they raised it, it came down, they raised it again, the wind blew harder, yet they raised it again and got it ERECT.*
Then I told them to raise it when the players came out, the players took their time, the banner holders got it up*, then it started to faulter when the wind blew an almightt gale, the players took their time when the got close and the banner holders got it up* again just in time for them to run through.
It was amazing stuff, I was jumping up and down cheering them on, Punk Rooster had one of the ropes and you should have seen his hands immediately after, they almost sliced straight through his hands.
Great stuff North fans.

Yes I did I was in the stand opposite to where you guys were hanging on for dear life the highlight of the day for me. I assume the punk in the red army boots was Punk Rooster and jeez he looked stuffed once it was all over

Nothing was done in fast motion, though.
Well done to the North CS however, another well done banner and an equally well done effort to keep it up*.

Was quite a battle for both squads.
Into such a wind you need two on the front ropes and the back role to come around as well.
Eagles seemed to manage OK, but with a tear
North with a bigger banner took a while but they got there.
Did the Southern pole break, looked to be a kink of some sort about 1m up ?

I saw it, was a great sight. The wind suddenly became really strong after the reserves game and before the league. The players were great to wait there for a few seconds, and those involved with getting the banner up did a terrific job I must say.
And I assume that was you Wedgie with the camera taking the photos just as they tried to get it up?

ha ha, great signature Jimmy, gave me a giggle!
Im just watching the replay and did have a laugh that it took 3 150kg monsters on each of the Eagles banner ropes to hold up a postage stamp yet the North lads managed to get up their huge effort with one on each rope.

North seemed to have no shortage of 150kg monsters in the stands who could be called upon for assistance...

Did they? Must admit I spent a few minutes looking through the stands when standing by the players race and could only see families and older people in the stands.

I was on my way but couldn't get my 150kg over the fence, yet some supporters reckon it's the quickest they have seen me move in years

At least we had more then one person on each of the ropes.
If it was a bit smaller, the wind would be less of a problem.

True, would have been even less of a problem if we didn't have one but where would the fun be in that?
