Myself and a young North supporters (Justin) who was interviewed on the ABC last week took the North banner in at half time of the reserves today.
When we were exitting through the members gate, an elderly security lady who seemed friendly enough asked us what was on the banner this week.
Thinking she was genuinely interested Justin told her:
WITH GUTS AND
DERMINTATION WE'RE
THE MIGHTY RED + WHITE
WE'LL SHOW NO MERCY
LET'S FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT
She said "that's nice", just make sure you don't mention the words "cocks" again otherwise we'll stop you putting your banner up.
This was obviously in reference to our banner in the first week of the finals that read:
NOWS OUR CHANCE
OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS
JAR'S ITS TIME TO
UNLEASH THE COCKS
The questions have to be asked:
a) why is "cocks" offensive, when Roosters are referred to as Cocks just like female dogs are referred to as bitches, and
b) how the hell would she and her cronies stop the banner from going up when she's only see it when its up ready for the players to run through it?
If it wasn't so laughable I would have told her where to stick it.
Im tempted to have the next Adelaide Oval banner read "GET ******!"
