Also the SANFl can issue permits to players such as Marshall, Sutcliffe etc.

He might qualify but I don’t the crows will allow him to play.
He’s going to have to carry their ageing forward line next year.

Imagine the outcry if he does a knee in a game that holds little importance to the club.

He’ll miss with ‘general soreness’ for sure.

McHenry who has been out injured for a few weeks would likely get a permit anyway, as he's played no AFL games.

Also, Richard Douglas will be qualified if he plays in the Crows SANFL team this week, if not he is ineligible.

I believe a list of eligible players will be released today or tomorrow.

If the Crows put a line through a few of their qualified players, then they will struggle to put a team on the park wont they?

A port supporter on bigfooty as spoken to someone at the PAFC who has advised him that the 9 AFL games ruling no longer exists and that Marshall does qualify.

Have thought about it and now see why.

Previously the 18 SANFL game season started around the same time as the AFL season or finished before, as such once you played 9 AFL games it wasn't possible to play 10 SANFL games. With the SANFL season starting later than the AFL season ( 1 week ) plus the split rounds so the last round is on the same weekend it is possible to play 9 AFL games and still play more SANFL games.

Cheers sib.

Did Otten or AFC mention whether he’ll suit up for SANFL finals?

He stated he will retire at the end of the year; I took that to mean he will play SANFL finals. He went in to this season knowing he'd mostly be an SANFL player so would be rather strange to not play out the season.

Cheers mate .. I assumed that would be the case for the reasons you've mentioned, but figured best to check
