I appreciate the sentiment matt35 in ideal world I would agree with you but the AFC (the team I support at AFL level too) don't give a flap about the SANFL. They don't care if they win or lose tonight or even if they went on to win the SANFL premiership. This is their reserves their developmental side the end result is meaningless.
Sam Jacobs is out of favour at the Crows spending a significant period in the SANFL this year at the expense of ROB and clearly was only really re-called late in the season to shop him for a potential trade. Both the club and the player (who knows he's on the outer) wouldn't want to risk injury ahead of a potential trade to another club. It's understandable that Jacobs won't be playing.
