And a fit Lonergan might be great for the eagles as well watching him in games on the digital pass . He was a great in and under player .

Word around the traps is Lonergan and a few others are on notice from Coach to sharpen up the skills!
Fitness would be considered a given for players wanting league games nowadays you’d think.
Our senior players don’t have outstanding skills now Lewis has retired his golden left peg :)

Word around the traps I’ve heard is the Eagles are the fittest they’ve been in 10 years
Coach is working them hard or was before Xmas .
Good on Sheedy pushing the players on skills and fitness

Was chatting to someone at the Eagles last night, said the players don't know what have hit them as far as the ferocity of the pre season training Sheedy is putting them through, something never seen at Oval Ave before.

Might not be as many fade outs next year.

That’s what I’ve heard
Not about the fade outs though
I think it’s been a long time since the eagles have been trained that hard
Good on Sheedy

Rating the Recruits for 2020

SANFL clubs have been busy securing a host of quality signings ahead of the 2020 Statewide Super League season. With several former AFL stars poised to play in the SANFL next year, find out who will prove to be the difference-making recruits according to ZAC MILBANK.

1- Ryan Bastinac (Norwood)
Bastinac looms as a difference-making recruit after averaging 31 disposals per game for the Brisbane Lions in the NEAFL last year. A winner of the Lions’ Reserves best-and-fairest for the past two years, the 28-year-old captained the Lions’ undefeated 2019 campaign in the NEAFL. Will be used by Norwood coach Jarrod Cotton in the centre square where he will be given every chance to shine.

Age: 28
Height: 186cm
Weight: 82kg
AFL Games: 164 (North Melbourne 121, Brisbane 43)
Position: Midfielder

2 - Daniel Menzel (Central District)
Plenty of anticipation building at Elizabeth as Daniel Menzel prepares to make his Statewide Super League debut alongside younger brother Troy in 2020. The 28-year-old should cause plenty of headaches for the opposition coaches inside 50m, with his sharpshooting and ability to create scoring opportunities a feature of his game.

Age: 28
Height: 190cm
Weight: 90kg
AFL Games: 80 (Geelong 73, Sydney 7)
Position: Medium Forward

3 - Keegan Brooksby (South Adelaide)
Returns to South Adelaide where he is set to make a major impact in 2020. Looms as the best ruckman in the competition after winning West Coast’s WAFL best-and-fairest award in 2019. Will also provide valuable leadership given he was co-captain with the Panthers in 2018, the same year he was named captain of The Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year.

Age: 29
Height: 197cm
Weight: 99kg
AFL Games: 14 for Gold Coast 2015-2017
SANFL Games: 81
Position: Ruck

4 - Richard Douglas (Norwood)
His resume says it all which is why Norwood was delighted the Crows best-and-fairest winner opted to extend his career with the Redlegs in 2020. The 32-year-old will be dangerous around the goals while playing across half-forward while also having spurts in the midfield for coach Jarrod Cotton. Douglas will be determined to steer clear of the medical room after managing 13 games (9 AFL and 4 SANFL) in 2019.

Age: 32
Height: 181cm
Weight: 79kg
AFL Games: 246 for Adelaide
Position: Medium Forward/Midfielder

5 - Matthew Broadbent (South Adelaide)
Broadbent’s close relationship with South coach Jarrad Wright saw him choose the Panthers over a return to Woodville-West Torrens upon his delisting by Port Adelaide. Expect Wright to use Broadbent through the midfield more than he experienced at Alberton while he will also be a composed head across half-back. Uses the ball well by foot in constructing the play from defence.

Age: 29
Height: 189cm
Weight: 90kg
AFL Games: 171 for Port Adelaide
Position: Medium Defender/Midfielder

6 - Billy Hartung (North Adelaide)
North Adelaide has added an abundance of speed this off-season and it’s fair to say Hartung tops the list. Loves to run and carry with ball in hand before using his neat foot skills to hit up targets inside 50m. Will be looking to rekindle his AFL career with strong performances for the Roosters in 2020.

Age: 24
Height: 177cm
Weight: 78kg
AFL Games: 76 (63 for Hawthorn, 13 for North Melbourne)
Position: Midfielder/Wing

7 - Billy Stretch (Glenelg)
Returns to the Bays after spending the past five seasons with AFL club Melbourne. A polished user of the football, Stretch is ultra fit and will be set to use his aerobic capacity to advantage while playing through the midfield and off a wing. Quality character who will also become a natural leader for the Tigers on and off the field.

Age: 23
Height: 180cm
Weight: 80kg
AFL Games: 47 for Melbourne
Position: Midfielder/Wing

8 - Tyson Goldsack (Port Adelaide)
Set to don the treasured No.1 guernsey for the Magpies in the club’s 150th year, Goldsack is understanding of his important role on the field as he embarks on his coaching career off it. The 32-year-old will control the flow of play across half-back whilst using his exceptional intercept marking skills.

Age: 32
Height: 193cm
Weight: 93kg
AFL Games: 165 for Collingwood
Position: Defender

9 - Andrew Moore (North Adelaide)
Returns to South Australia after spending the past three seasons having an impact in the VFL with the Box Hill Hawks. Captained Hawthorn’s affiliate to the 2018 VFL premiership and will bring similar leadership qualities to the Roosters, who have lost premiership skipper Max Thring to retirement. Expect Moore to use his sizeable frame to advantage inside the centre square.

Age: 28
Height: 189cm
Weight: 87kg
AFL Games: 60 (55 for Port Adelaide, 5 for Richmond)
Position: Inside midfielder

10 - Matt Allen (Glenelg)
Drafted as a key forward type by West Coast in 2015, Allen transformed himself into a big-bodied midfielder during the past 18 months. Won East Perth’s best-and-fairest award in 2018 and went on to average more than 20 disposals per game this year. Could also be used at either end of the ground, giving premiership coach Mark Stone plenty of flexibility with one of his key recruits.

North Adelaide has elevated Alex Spina into the role of Statewide Super League captain for the 2020 season.

Acting as a vice-captain for the past two seasons, the 24-year-old replaces premiership skipper Max Thring, who announced his retirement last year.

Speaking on SANFL Radio, Spina said he was extremely proud to be handed the baton as the Roosters’ captain given the names before him on the club’s honour board.

Now with 102 League games under his belt, Spina felt he was primed to tackle the challenge in unison with new coach Jacob Surjan, who has also risen up the ranks to replace premiership mentor Josh Carr.

Spina – who has been involved at Prospect since playing in the Under-16s in 2010 – will be joined in North’s three-man leadership group by joint vice-captains Andrew Moore and Tom Schwarz.

Moore, who will rejoin the Roosters after playing 14 League matches from 2010-2013 while AFL-listed with Port Adelaide, will provide Spina with great experience having captained Box Hill Hawks to the VFL premiership in 2018.

Schwarz continues to impress North officials with his professionalism on and off the field, rated as the club’s best player in the 2018 Statewide Super League Grand Final and posting a top three finish in last year’s Barrie Robran Medal.

Spina, who said Surjan was more relaxed as he settled into his new role, has rated the club’s 2020 list as the strongest in his tenure, with key recruits Billy Hartung, Robbie Young, Kym Lebois, Harrison Wigg and Cameron Hewett all impressing on the training track.

On the SANFL homepage there is a "2020 fixtures" link at the top; League -> 2020 Fixtures.

That leads to the following link:
https://sanfl.com.au/league/2020-fixtures/

Womens, reserves and junior fixtures are also there.

Congratulations to Luke Habel on his appointment as Central District captain for 2020. He will be ably assisted in the Leadership Group by Jarrod Schiller and Troy Menzel. Trent Goodrem and Kyle Jenner gave great service in their roles and it is great that they are still continuing on as players.
Cheers

The SA Football Commission wishes to advise that Tom Zorich, Louise Small and Rob Kerin have been elected to serve as members of the Commission for the next three years.

SANFL League Directors met tonight to vote on the three vacant elected positions on the Commission.

The SA Football Commission – the governing body for football in South Australian – comprises seven elected members and two appointed members.

Mr Zorich, first elected to the Commission in 2011, returns for a further three-year term. He is a business owner, past player and former Chairman of Central District Football Club.

Ms Small, a business manager and former Adelaide Thunderbirds assistant coach and State League netballer, was appointed to the Commission for a one-year term in 2019. She will now serve as an elected Commissioner until 2023.

Mr Kerin is a former Premier of South Australia, SANFL Community Football League Director and member and chair of numerous Boards.

Former Chair of the Commission John Olsen AO did not seek a further three-year term. The Commission will meet this month to appoint a new chairperson.
