Round 6 North v South 1410

Postby DOC » Tue Jul 28, 2020 9:46 am

Match of the round.

South started well and finished poorly last week but held on.

North started poorly but finished very well to record a comfortable victory.

If the form line holds this should be a fast and tough encounter. Looking forward to this one.

Yes, this will be a very interesting contest, both sides will be keen to gain a psychological advantage over the other and keep pace with the Eagles, who are likely to account for Centrals and continue on their winning way. Can't wait!

South’s Mexicans over the boarder coming in this week?

Should be a great contest - our record at Prospect in recent years has been pretty good.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

North seem to have an abundance of quality talls in their team and I think South’s defence will be stretched. Cailotto or Haren or both will have to play back to help Summerton and Highmore. Maybe Whittlesea gets a call up after his BOG for the reserves last week.
North also seem to have an abundance of ex AFL players, not sure how they managed that but they recruited very well.
The Eagles showed us that North can be beaten so hopefully South take a few things from that game but this will be a very hard game of footy for the Panthers to win.
Unfortunately I’m thinking North will win at Prospect by 3 goals.
I sure hope I’m wrong. Go Panthers!

Reckon he's been a bit stiff to miss out on selection?

NORTH

North Adelaide has replaced one hamstrung player with another for the contest against South at Prospect on Saturday.

Speedy forward Robbie Young has recovered from his hamstring strain to be named at half-forward while former captain Mitch Clisby will miss 3-4 weeks with his hamstring injury.

Key defender Dyson Hilder will play his first League game of the year after being named in the back pocket as Mason Neagle and Dakota Nixon were listed on the extended interchange bench.

Former West Coast Eagle Malcolm Karpany looms as his most likely replacement given he is also a left-footer who can play across half-forward or the wing.

Karpany has been joined in the Panthers’ 25-man squad by Anthony Biemans, Jack Elsworthy and Tom Whittlesea, who have all been named on the extended interchange bench.

Great to see Robbie Young back for us, his pace should come in handy and complement Le Bois and Szekely given the forecast is for a fine day.

Should be a great game, definitely match of the round, and in perfect footy weather. North by a couple of goals.

South missing Fitt with injury ,Noble dropped and another could be in doubt.. our record against North in recent times has been quite good, but I'm worried about how the youngsters in the South team will adapt to the uniqueness of the Prospect Council Ratepayers Oval , we seem to be suited to the bigger grounds. South by 4 pts.
