I don’t think the league side is that far off TBH and are competitive most weeks

Recruits will be on their way soon enough ..

I believe that our number one priority has to be a tall marking forward. This would help straighten up our play and give our mids confidence in delivering the ball forward. Much as I love Aidan, he is more a half-forward flanker than a key forward. Fraser does well when forward, but we really need him all over the ground (a clone or two of him would help ;) ). Two players we lost whom would have been handy were Daniel Menzel and Connor McLean. At Norwood, Conner has proven to be a better player than we seemed to give him credit for. Maybe we didn't manage him well?

The return of Marcus Barreau next year will be really useful, as will a full pre-season for Aaron Nietschke. I also hope that Hosko decides to go around at least one more time.

I wonder if Isaya McKenzie may be interested in returning? Not sure how enjoyable it would be having to play community football as much as he does as part of the Crows setup.
Cheers

I think this has been just a big a problem as our lack of recruiting.

As you said McLean has for one reason or another settled at Norwood and is playing good league football.
Even Lachlan Grubb has gone to North played every game in the league for a team that is top of the table.

Jumbo jets don't have rear view mirrors.
Hopefully the appointment of Mark Ross will rectify these issues.

Agree. I've liked the start to Edwards tenor at the club. I think his identified the key issues really well and is slowly introducing solutions.

I think our progression off field is happening faster than it is on field at the moment. Hoping we look back in 5 years and see Edwards in the same light as we look at Alan Stewart and his impact on the club.

Norwood are flying ,Adelaide might be a chance depending on how many AFL players they have and doubt we would beat Glenelg at Glenelg.
So for some improvement we have shown it is not going to improve our win/loss record .
I guess i will be a matter next season of who we can retain from this year and if we can pick up a few good recruits in comparison to who we will lose .

Very unlucky against Sturt,
should have beaten South at the start of the year,
up against a stacked side yesterday,
very easily could have been 7 & 8,
we're on the right track,
we just need a genuine ruckman.

And lost by just 1 point,
turned out to be 2 from 5 BUT could easily have been 4 from 5,
we're getting there.

Slowly getting there.
We need to score more,it's been over 80 games since we hit 100 points.
Need 2 key forwards who can mark and provide a contest.
Need 2 quality onballers .
Don't necessarily need a ruckman.
We have Thomson,Ryan,Fort and McCormack who can ruck.

ABSOLUTELY need a ruckman. Billy is okay around the ground but is intimidated by the genuine rucks laike Hayes, Boyd and Redden. Fort would be far more value up forward. Ryan and Thomson are not exactly dominating in the ressies.
Get ourselves a genuine big and then Billy and Fort can be used up forward.
Barreau will be one of our quality mids, but yes we need another.

Definitely need to improve the midfield, plus a genuine fwd.
Fort not a fwd,he's better in the ruck or at CHB.

It would be nice for 'Bunger' to come home next year and bring Josh Kennedy with him ;)
Chances: Buckleys... but one dares to dream.

McLennan from Gold Coast to come back is one I’d Bank on.

Fort is signed with Lions until the end of 2023

I would fear we would lose both Forts back to their hometown when Darcy finishes his AFL career. I hope I am wrong.

We scored over 100 points first match last season........................but yes, it's still a problem.

If you read previous posts, the reference to the 80 games issue was someone else's posts, I was highlighting the fact that it hasn't been.

Well bugger me, I thought we kicked 16 goals, not 15.
80 games? Really! That's shite.
