"We just waltzed back in!

Really? Mozart or Strauss?"

To my knowledge, Mozart never wrote any waltzes. That was definitely the Strauss family territory. Just raising the tone here.

Wasn't he a Bach-man? Sounds like his career un-Ravel-ed.

I wonder if we could put together an all-star team of SANFL composers. Surely there has been a Glass or a Nyman in SANFL history?

Good sample size you've used to support your argument.

To increase our sample size I present 1991-2012 and to cover off on "oh yeah but what if it happened now" I present 2020.

Anymore proof required the SANFL is fine without AFl clubs presence in our league ?? is over 20 years enough ??

Booney, what are your thoughts on this matter,
do you think, with all these borders opening & closing all the time & with the constant threat of Covid outbreaks all the time, is it wise for the 2 clubs in question to field their teams in the SANFL? And I'm actually being serious lol
What would happen if we start the footy season, only for an outbreak to occur & travel bubbles are once again imposed?
What happens if we're 3 or 6 round into the season?
Do Port & Crows forfeit the remaining matches, resulting in their opponents winning by default?
Interesting stuff!

I think we now have 16 SANFL listed players. We have 42 on our AFL list.

If, by chance, another Queensland based hub was to eventuate ( I don't think this will given the nature of COVID response in Australia is completely different in mid-2021 than it was in early / mid 2020 ) then we would probably do what we did last year, take 30 or 32 players into the hub leaving 10-12 players here + the 16 SANFL listed = 26-28.

Allow for some injuries or quarantine etc ( 4-6 ) then we would have 20+ here in Adelaide with potentially only 4-6 of them AFL listed.

Given the situation I'd say the SANFL would rather us add to our SANFL list via local talent than remove us from the season.

Keep in mind the AFL removed the SANFL sides last year as it was all a complete unknown, in the end it was probably an over reaction but what were they to do? I'd imagine 2021 has far more planning and contingency plans in place if there were to be another AFL hub situation.

Whilst these are very good points for PAFC

THe big question is what if one AFL club cant field a reserves team due to quarantine restrictions what will happen then ???

As we saw last year with the training restrictions crows/power had to stick with. The AFL has a one in all in policy.

Based on last year IT will only take one club to be required to quarantine and not field a reserve team for the league to stop fielding reserves team full stop. It would be an unfair advantage for the rest of the league if WA couldnt field a reserves team as an example.

Initially seething, now MIA. :(

Like most of us, probably just busy holding the forte. I noted your last overture towards hymn was a about a twelve month period after his last pitch, not insignificant in the scale of things. Perhaps just cop it suite?

Is my thinking baroque? Perhaps I should stave off looking like A Major bassoon. Is that the key?

Sorry, a natural minor oversight. I was feeling a bit flat at the time.

For the record, 1984 among our most note-worthy. Couldn't kick a big enough score and got well beat by Glenelg in the Qualifier after some on-field dis-harmony. Our half back line choralled from playing the following week in the Semi. Pretty sure Alan Stringer was on song that day.

Anyway, back with the program, so play on.

Not sure whether or not we might be seeing a shift in thinking with regards to how sport in general might be managed in Era CoVid. Did I mishear something or were the tennis players in Melbourne recently classified as "essential workers"? Is this usual?

Looking at the program(me), C7 doesn't appear to have scheduled any games featuring AFL reserves sides for the first four weeks. I'm almost certain the gap for covering neither has never been that long for the start of a season, and it's fair to say they've never gone without since C7 took over.

Might it be a case of C7 committing to the SANFL clubs early with a real possibility that The Others might be pulled at some stage, and leaving any coverage for later if they do indeed play? Am I over (or under) thinking this?

Would be a pretty impressive Liszt, a few would be making their Debussy but a some might be Haydn.

You're a bit off cue there. See the first verse in my earlier long composition.

Easy to miss I guess, the whole post was a bit of a Nutcracker. Might not have struck a chord with everyone.

I don't think I'm drawing a long bow here.

How is' that, maestro?
