His 26 votes is the highest number of votes polled by the winner since Nathan Buckley in 1992 - 27. (Josh Francou also polled 26 in 1996)
His career tally of votes now stands at 61 - 12 of those were at West in 2002.
It is the 4th time that Backwell has been in the top 20.
Justin Cicolella has now become the first Eagles player to poll 100 votes - 109 in total.
He has 26 first preference, 12 second preference and 7 third preference votes over an eight year period.
