R13 Norwood v Sturt Friday 7.40

Postby DOC » Wed Jun 30, 2021 12:30 pm

That will be cold, Coopers Stout recommended.

The moleskin cup.

Both sides coming off wins. Norwood won this first time around.

Home advantage and good form will see them home. Expecting a low scoring affair. Midfield battle will be key.

Norwood by 2 goals.

Coupla good in's for the Legs maybe. Sturt being very admirable in terms of how plucky theve been this season. Close game expected and wouldn't be surprised if the visitors upset the apple cart.

Not a crack at the two clubs.

This will go close to the smallest crowd for this fixture I have seen.

Who would have thought so on a Friday night in July?

Last week against Centrals Dale Fleming did a lap of the oval and a couple of wags next to me complained about tonight’s fixture. The response was that NFC welcomed it because the take through the bar on Fri nights is $16 per punter versus $8 per punter on a Sunday (which was this round’s other option for this fixture). Of course! Fine! But never in July. It’s wet. We are playing torrid porridge. And my balaclava has a hole in it.

Making up the numbers, that’s all we are doing. Keep picking duds each week and that’s what we will get

Tom Lewis with 23 tackles with half a quarter to go I would be thinking is a record or bloody close to it.

Jim05, I don’t think it’s quite so bad as just making up the numbers. It’s just what it looks like when you HONESTLY refresh a list, which is Twig’s charter. The business of topping up an ordinary list with 28 year olds no longer works - if it ever really did.

Lots of kids this year-who are good- but gonna be inconsistent.

It’s better than under freakin’ Cotts, Jim, isn’t it?

Of course it’s better than Cotton but the complete lack of effort on several occasions this year is appalling and it’s time for him to start dropping the hammer on some of these blokes.
No matter how poorly you are playing everyone is still capable of tackling or chasing, they are non negotiables IMO.
