R14 Sturt v Glenelg Saturday 1410

Postby DOC » Thu Jul 08, 2021 12:08 am

Both coming off a win.

First time around Glenelg got up by less than a kick,

Could the Tigers lose their first?

Sturt have been very impressive (since I said there season was over) and I have an inkling.

Glenelg by 10 goals.

Definite danger game, Sturt with their tails up after winning 3 on the trot against fellow finals contenders above them.
Our mob are coming* off their two hardest matches of the year.

Go Blues

I can't see us winning but then I couldn't see us winning 3 on the trot either. I've been surprised over the course of this season, and I'll be happy to be surprised this week as well.

Wingman Josh Shute, first-year midfielder Mani Liddy and potential AAMI Rookie Anzac Lochowiak, from Payneham, have been added to the seven-man extended interchange.

Bigman Lachlan Burrows, named on the interchange, must prove his fitness after a heavy fall into the boundary fence last Friday night.

Sturt proved at the Bay May they’ve got the game plan to match us.

They’ve got a bunch of goers and are on their home deck

I will be very happy if we get the “W” here!

Some curious names (no, seriously) for the Bays that suggest sons of former players - Kitschke, Murphy, Symonds, Viska, Trevena, Dewhirst. Can anyone confirm? Good to see if the case.

Also @am Bays, I like how Condon protects his teammates in the reserves, and I expect Watts in the under-18s to be charged by the umps. ;)

Bays deserving favourite and Bays should win

BUT

If I was a betting man I'd be keeping an eye on the even-money spread on the Blues.

F*** we should be 10 goals up

Our fwd 50 entry kicking has been putrid!

Out of bounds kicks, 4 times we’ve hit defenders when we’re clear and twice we’ve hit the post.

^ this - but I coulda sworn the Bays have hit the woodwork thrice.

Unfortunately the PA man has let the team down with Wild Horses. I just hope he plays Tigerland at the end...

Got to say Sturt have received it well and truly without protection from the umps today.

We lead the free kick count 15-8 at 3/4 time.

Having said that McBean has been scragged something chronic and should have at least three free kicks for hanging on/chopping the arms.

The biggest umpiring mistake today will be if Brett Turner doesn’t get the 3 votes today
