WEST

West Adelaide coach Brad Gotch has boosted his team’s leg speed ahead of the clash with Sturt at Hisense Stadium.

Pacy trio Nathan Batley, Kenny Karpany and Sam Davidson have been included in the 25-man squad, with Davidson a chance to make his club debut for the Bloods after moving from Port Adelaide’s SANFL team.

Ruckman Stuart Taverner and premiership midfielder Josh Schiller have also been listed on the seven-man extended interchange bench.

The 1995 winless blues would have beaten that westies side today.

The 95 blues had a saviour in Phil Carman and some hard workers in the background that wouldn’t let things die.

Hope westies can find the same resolve to turn it around.

With every year beyond the post crows era SANFL that gets harder though.

The league itself was 10 goals better in 95 so Sturt would have beaten them easy

26 years on…. That might be true but it’s still cold comfort. Man those were dark days.

What can west do? Other then the 15 flag and runner up in the early 10's, they have been comfortably the worst side in the league since 2005. Recruiting is always terrible which is probably because of $$. Feel for the 500 fans that turn up week in week out to watch this.

Give it 3 or 4 years, and Westies will hold the Blues to 0.5 at the same ground.

Hey, similar results have happened....
