R17 Sturt v Port Saturday 2.30

Postby DOC » Tue Aug 10, 2021 4:11 pm

Sturts form over the last 6 or so has been first rate. Not so for Port who went down last week to Adelaide.

Pattulo may miss for Sturt and who knows for Port.

Sturt won this encounter in the first round by 7 goals.

A repeat. Sturt by 7 goals.

Powerpies getting absolutely flogged, very nice to see as that will end their season. South, Norwood and Sturt to battle for 2 spots in the finals

Yep lose they’re gone

I think North are safe. In fact I think they’ll be a Smokey for the GF.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yes, having the best % in the league before the round started (which is amazing considering Glenelg haven't lost a game and we've lost 6) should see us in the finals. Hard road home though with the current tough game at Noarliunga, Sturt away and Norwood.

You belted us and West early on which has a huge bearing on the percentage

I think your safe Jim

Sturt play Eagles and North

You’ve got North and Adelaide with a game in hand you should be OK.

Sturt hitting their straps and not without a chance to win 1 of those.
We will need to win 1 more, won’t get within 10 goals of North so will need to beat the Ravens.
South and Norwood making up the numbers regardless.

I think we've improved since losing 4 of our players mid season! Amazing.

I wouldn't write Sturt off. There percentage is better than Norwood.
Their form is excellent. They have two hard games but they are both at Unley.
If they were to win them both and North were to beat Norwood at Prospect, Sturt would replace Norwood because of their superior percentage.
Furthermore if North beat Norwood, the game against Sturt becomes a "dead rubber" for North.
