Thought Norwood were very good in that Qualifying Final. Had you a target up forward, which you lost in the mid-season draft, the result may have been different. As for desire and playing that hardened brand of finals football, in that game at least, you were there. FWIW I also think Sturt play a similar way and with more experience and recruiting, could be contenders in 2022.

Agree with everything there, Aerie. Re Sturt, even without much recruiting I am pretty sure they will be contenders. Their form in the latter part of the season was excellent. Strangely, the improvement started when Kirkwood and McEntee left; maybe the others were leaving too much up to the great man, Zane - with him gone they realised they all had to lift?
Cheers

Ankle gone, 11 years of commitment to the SANFL of which seven were a hard slog.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yep agree with you both .. Throw a fit Wilson into that group with a couple others who missed a lot of this season and I reckon Sturt can easily join the contenders in 2022.

Would Lewis be a chance to get drafted? Seemed to easily be Sturt's best midfielder and very impressive as a contested ball-winning mid.

Like many clubs, will probably be hunting for a key forward who can kick at least 30-40 goals next season.

Any truth in Rucci’s comments on Sen that Gray if he’s not picked up in the draft will go to the eagles

Not sure what Rucci said but I think we had signed up Sam Gray following the collapse of the Maggies which also saw Kirkwood go to Sturt. Unfortunately shortly after the Power drafted him so we never saw him in eagles colours.

He'd be a good replacement for Stengle.

All quiet on the western front so far, which is a good sign.
Meggsy starts on Monday, so things might change then.
I believe that Scott Stevens has already been relieved of some of his duties, so there's change in the wind already.
