Maybe the paperwork was lodged by 30 June but only the announcement was released today.

Good get by the Eagles. I hope he isn't expecting to play as a permanent midfielder because given the club's lack of height he will probably be one of the top 4 tallest people in our team and could therefore find himself playing minutes in the ruck!!

I enjoyed watching Ellis-Yolmen when he played for the Crows I didn't even know he had been delisted by Brisbane but good to see him back here in the SANFL.

Yes, The Advertiser are reporting that this is the case.

Surely must be playing for free. I can't imagine any SANFL club having space in the piddly $220k cap half way through the year. Especially a side with the Menzels, Knight, and Toumpas.

Here we go again dragging up the Menzel brothers IIRC when centrals fans brought this up . It was mentioned Centrals paid them more money than they are getting from the Eagles . End result they’ve won the flag !
Perhaps stop flogging the Menzel horse

Yes give it a rest Dogs64, its not like they keep banging on about 19 players in the 2018 finals series so just get over it like the eagles supporter's have

The point was, they've already got quality ex afl players on the list (only mentioned four) and with such a low salary cap I can't imagine any SANFL team not using all of it at this stage (regardless of the quality of their list). Edit as not to offend: "Surely must be playing for free. I can't imagine any SANFL club having space in the piddly $220k cap half way through the year. And the Eagles like Centrals and every other SANFL team would be under scrutiny from the SANFL. Not the AFL sides I’d assume .
Sorry but you sound like a disgruntled centrals fan complaining about the Eagles .
Silly question did you think the same thing when centrals won all those flags ?
Perhaps those days are why every club now are watched not to go over the cap . And iirc the eagles in the old days went over once after that they never went over again .

A bit of a risk taking on an unvaccinated player when Covid cases are soaring, but hoping it works out well for Cameron and the Eagles.

Seems like a fair point, an ex AFL marquee player who has openly stated that he wants to get back into the AFL is joining an SANFL team to try and fulfil that ambition. Half way through the season, unless the Eagles have been frugal with their salary management you wouldn't expect there to be much left in the kitty. So either Cam is playing for peanuts, or the Eagles have found room within the salary cap.

Perhaps losing 3 players late to the AFL drafts freed up some salary cap?
Maybe some clubs attract talent due to the opportunity to better themselves and advance their careers, and not just chase money like some of the Mercenary's. And maybe even win a premiership or 2.

Harper Montgomery, who has played 8 Under 18 games for North this year has been named on the half back flank for the Port Magpies this week.
He is the son of Brett Montgomery, so he is a potential father/son recruit for the Power.

Correct, we would probably have more salary cap space available than most clubs. Assuming Dylan Clarke was a direct replacement for Tsitas from a salary perspective, we still have Jack Hayes' salary for the whole year and the remainder of Zane Williams' salary available to pay Cam 6 games plus finals (if we make it). Cam may still be getting paid by Brisbane at a reduced rate too if on their inactive list.

So the answer is that you had room within the cap after 3 late drafts  ?

We found a disused brown paper bag in the storage room.

Seriously Brisbane must have paid him out for this season. I believe he has been playing local in Queensland so he must have had some sort of clearance,

Brown paper bags are so 1980’s.
Clubs have moved on to Premiership DVD’s now ;)
