I reckon it '''might'' also the 100 year anniversary of either the approval or when Woodville Oval was constructed ???

Yes, in 1921 the Woodville Council purchased 15 acres of land to use as a recreation ground. A bowling club was formed soon after. It wasn’t until 1937 that significant works commenced with the Woodville Cricket Club forming in 1938. The Woodville Football Club used the oval from 1941. The first SANFL game on Thebarton Oval was Round 1 vs Sturt in 1922.

The other bit of trivia for Woodville Oval
I was invited to try out for the Woodville colts team in the mid 1970s
I didnt make the cut
I have no resentment to the club
Only one thing stopped me playing League football , ability
So I end up winning 2 less Magarey Medals than Joel Cross

Hoping for a good game
I dont have a preference which team to barrack for

If it dont rain too much I think GL will win

11111111111111111221

Thats Glenelgs form this year
Prob means they are the better team, but not by much

That's surprising, looking at the tickets online it looks like only a few sections left to select, unless they're waiting until those sections get filled before opening up more

Should be a cracker of a game with both teams fielding a host of talent which clearly set them apart from the rest of the competition this season.

I think the Bays best is better than the WWT at their best. Can the Eags keep them "at Bay" for long enough to win? They did in the 2nd semi, but only just. I am thinking Glenelg will be better prepared this time around.

With Goldie out due to hamstring issues, his replacement will be between 4 imho - Haylock, Hardie, Mc Farlane and Litster with Haylock my choice, especially with the forecast weather. If Ronnie was coaching, Litster would be a no-brainer as he liked to pluck juniors for big games namely - Paul Stewart, Sam Fairclough, Zac Hier to name a few.

Those four will all be in the mix. The other player who will be considered is Lehmann, particularly if they want to go into the match taller. Sheedy indicted at the SANFL GF Press Conference the other day that Lehmann has overcome his hamstring injury suffered against glenelg two weeks ago and is in the mix.

My choice out of that group would be McFarlane as he has more flexibility than the others to play either midfield or defence. I think he also showed during the season that he can consistently be amongst our best players. Haylock and Hardie seem to be a class above reserves but just haven't been able to regularly adjust at senior level. Litster is going to be a gun and looked comfortable in his one league match against Centrals at the end of the season but not sure whether Sheedy needs to take a risk here? The weather may be the determining factor on whether Lehmann plays and if it is going to be wet then probably less of a need to go in tall.

The Eagles GF team/squad is now on the Eagles site. It looks like it will be changed suitable to the weather on the day. A bit of a surprise to me is the inclusion of Von B...he hasn't set the world alight in recent weeks, in my opinion. But he is tall.

EAGLES

Woodville-West Torrens has called upon four players to consider for inclusion in the 2021 Statewide Super League Grand Final against Glenelg.

Classy veteran Matthew Goldsworthy will miss the title-decider after rupturing the tendon in his hamstring during the Second Semi-Final win against the Tigers.

As a result, Mitch Hardie and Dane McFarlane loom as the like-for-like replacements for the premiership utility given they are of similar stature.

Key utility Jake Von Bertouch and tall defender Rory Lehmann have also been included on the seven-man extended interchange bench, the latter passed fit after overcoming a hamstring strain suffered in the Qualifying Final.

F: Stengle, D. Menzel, Lonergan

HF: Poole, Hayes, T. Menzel

C: Pudney, Tsitas, Mutch

HB: Cameron, Thompson, Toumpas

GLENELG

Glenelg coach Brett Hand could take an unchanged line-up into the 2021 Statewide Super League Grand Final against the Eagles.

Small forward Will Chandler has recovered from the concussion he received in the Second Semi-Final to be included in the Tigers’ 25-man squad.

Chandler has been joined on the seven-man extended interchange by 2019 premiership pair Brad McCarthy and Jonty Scharenberg.
