There has been a strong footy culture at WWT for many many years evidenced by success at junior levels, the high rate of draft picks from the club and strong finals participation. Mr Spellcheck provided a stat recently of a 64% W:L since 1991. Coach Sheedy recognised what we needed to improve, leg speed and quick movement in particular. Combine that with an overall intensity personified by Firns, Commitogianni, Jungfer, Pudney etc etc., and excellent recruiting, the club looks set for a little while yet. Well done to all!

Enjoying the Bays choke as much as I am it's been negligent of me to not acknowledge the Eagles efforts, not just in the last 18 months but in reality their whole existence.

From memory they've missed finals twice this century and stand alone when it comes to their junior program repeatedly producing AFL talent, helps with Henley and St Micks in their zone but they still do an amazing job producing talent.

Hats off to their whole organisation, they set the bench mark on field far more often than any other club has in the post-AFL era.

I remember the days when a Port supporter arguing with a Bays supporter about which team had choked harder in a finals series was a no contest conversation.

Was this a joke. No one has mentioned this. I think he will take the Reprimand :D

Woodville-West Torrens ruckman Jarrad Redden has been offered a reprimand with an early guilty plea for engaging in rough conduct with Glenelg’s Matthew Snook in the SANFL Grand Final on Sunday.

Jarrad Redden (Eagles) – Rough Conduct

Conduct: Careless

Contact: Body

Impact: Low

Base Sanction: $125 fine and reprimand

Early Guilty Plea: Reprimand

I might be wrong but I think the catchment area of kids you'd expect might be going to St Michaels and Henley High was split up between Eagles, Glenelg and West following a redistribution of boundaries a few years ago?

We've definitely done well from these schools in years gone by but schools like Sacred Heart, Rostrevor and PAC surely would have all been just as good to Glenelg, Norwood and Sturt over the years

Think you might be a bit off the mark with your assertion that because St Micks and Henley High are in the Eagles "Zone" it helps the Eagles produce talented footballers. I believe quite a few years ago these schools became part of the Tigers Zone, this all happened when Crows and Magpies/Power were admitted to the the SANFL as separate teams. St Michaels being a private schools most probably has quite a few from several different football clubs zones attending. Also, Henley High being a dedicated sports school also has quite a few sports people from outside the football zone Henley H. is located in. I know some of their students by pass about five other high schools to attend Henley High. The Eagles were left trying to convert old Magpie supporters to follow the Eagles. Good junior programs is what contributes to the Eagles success.
