(edit) just did some research, it was the second quarter, and it was 18 goals: 8 Glenelg to 10 North.

So I thought to myself, surely the 250-point job over Centrals in 1975 saw a bigger quarter than 18?

I checked and nope, but the second quarter also produced 18 goals - Glenelg 13 to Centrals 5.

We knocked them off at one of their big celebrations at the Bay a while ago when Perrie kicked a winning goal after the siren at the Bay, remember it well as I had a free invite to their show that night as I was taking photos and tried to keep quiet I was a North supporter.

it in fact was round 20 2006, north won by 4pts 21-20 to 22-10, ben mules had a shot with about a minute to go and sprayed it

perrie kicked 5 or 6

and as for the most goals kicked in a qtr at glenelg, 18 were also kicked in 1975 2nd qtr glenelg kicked 13 to dogs 5 in the 49-23 game

i cant ever remember the bays being beaten after the siren in my 50+ years of games at glenelg, james sellar won a game against sturt after thie siren in 2010 and justin mcconnell kicked one to draw against the dogs the year previous

Righto, I was thinking of the round 5 game, bays 18.7 to North 22.20. Seems we had the Roosters twice at Glenelg in 2006.

83 goals total in 2 games. Not bad by any standard.

Hopefully a good crowd at this one, great initiative by North. Pity about the 1:10 start; why?

Hopefully last week's loss will have given us the jolt we needed; I think we'll win, just. Glenelg by 5 points.

Going back to grounds, I never understood the ground rationalisation policy; seemed crazy to me at the time. On Sturt at Adelaide Oval though, I thought they moved from Unley to Adelaide Oval at the end of 1985?

100% correct. I remember that last minor round game of the season there, big crowd. Losing that game cost us the minor premiership & put us in the Qualifying Final v Norwood.

The usual reason these days, there's a women's game in after it.

I wonder how the early starts (1:10pm, 12:30pm and even 12:05pm) have impacted on crowd sizes over the past couple of years. I'm guessing the extra friends & family members the women's games bring evens it up a bit.

As a sh!t umpire just seen one of my pet peeves:

North player wins a loose ball has possession and gets tackled attempts to move it on, Stretchy drags it back in on to the North player, North player gets done for HTB.

Happens to Snooky on average once a game. That should be a ball up as the player once tackled has attempted to move the ball on.

North briefly in front now, no breeze, just both sides conspiring to kick goals to the end I'm not at.
In further news we've sighted a bin chicken in the ground.

Bruise free footy 37 tackles total at the half we lead by 7 (22-15)

Nothing for Sturt or Eagles to worry about here…
