Isn't the MM the kiss of death for the Premiership?

IRC only a few times has a team won both the MM and the Premiership.

So whoever plays the Roosters in the GF ......

2016, 2019 and 2021 Premiers provided the Margarey Medalist
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Did a search on Wikipedia, correct me if i'm wrong but years a team won both the Magarey and Premiership are

1905, 1908, 1909, 1910, 1914, 1925, 1927, 1934, 1935, 1956, 1960, 1980, 1987, 1990, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2013, 2016, 2019.

117 seasons of Magarey medal*, 20 times has a team won both = 17.09%
* excluding this year (as the premiership has yet to be decided)

Put another way, since world war 2 (couldn't be stuffed researching further back) the Magarey medalist club has also played in the grand final on 25 occasions. On 14 occasions they've won, and 11 they've lost.

So, if you're in the grand final, and you jag the Magarey as well, according to history you have as 56% chance of winning the flag.

Edit: since 1898 the Magarey medalist club has also played in the grand final on 42 occasions. On 24 occasions they've won, and 18 they've lost (just over 57%).
