R7 Norwood v Centrals

Friday night 7.40

Both sides coming off a loss.

I expect a low scoring affair. Centrals were well and truly thumped by Sturt last time out whilst Norwood let one slip against South.

Centrals have played Norwood Oval well traditionally. It's a line in the sand game for them. I would expect some selection changes for this match.

Norwood by 2 goals.

The boys will show their reaction to the mauling by Sturt 2 weeks ago by coming out fired up on Friday. I am hopeful this will result in a two goal win.
Cheers

I'm going with either two results....

We are fired up and put in a great performance with a Centrals win 1-24.

The opposite, confidence is down, players aren't gelling, Norwood pump us 39+

Problem is I don't think heads can roll. Thommo cant go even if we wanted him to, who would coach us....Platten and Brown couldn't do it surely.....they have been there ten plus years and never got the job.

Goodrem probably could step in but that's almost a carbon copy of Thommo.

What coaches are out there that would come mid season???? Personally I think Thommo needs to next season before his job is considered, we don't want to be a club chopping and changing coaches every couple of seasons.

Cant do much on the playing side either, the ressies are travelling okish but most of them are 60-70kg kids who will just get bullied at league level. Not many if any there that are going to walk up to league level and make an impact.

Platts has stepped back and only helping out at training as far as I know, so Browny would be the likely one, or Mark Watts.

Trent Goodrem returned home to Sydney with this wife and kids, so wouldn't be him. Maybe Kyle Jenner, who is playing coach at Nuri.

They should have given the job to Darren Reeves, now Reserves coach at North Adelaide, who was right under the clubs nose, but went with Jeff Andrews instead.

My biggest critism of the club and probably why I will come across anti Thomas is that its doesnt look or feel like they operated with best practise when Thommo was given the coaching role. I could be completely wrong but it seemed from the outset that Thommo was going to be given the job and then it was done within a week of Andrews leaving.

That cant be the best way to go about it surely...........we didnt even go out to the market.

I didn't realise it was Reeves coaching North. I have two mates from up in Clare playing for North ressies and both rate the coach extremely highly.

Funnily enough i saw Alfie at Clare Gourmet on the weekend.......he and a bus of about 30 nurioopta players were doing the winery circuit and enjoying themselves a fair bit.

We have zero depth, our league side resembles a reserves side, I think we're in for another hiding.

Fear you are right Gazzamagoo, we have no recognised ruckman to go up against Boyd hes one of the best ruckman in the league .
I guess all we can hope for after the Sturt debacle is the boys have a decent crack .

I'm still optimistic, I don't think we'll win every game, I'm a realist, but our lack of depth right now is showing.
BUT! I would think that this side will be very keen to put in a MUCH better effort than the Sturt match,
Luckily Norwood aren't going very well too, I think we will lose by at least 5 goals, within that & that's a pretty good effort.

Yeah agree anything under 4-5 goal loss is probably a respectable effort given the current circumstances.

Most sides would struggle when they have nearly half their league team out due to injury. However, this does give a huge opportunity for our younger boys to grab their chance and show that they are capable of league football. Having seen our side, I am not so confident of a win tonight but certainly expect a red hot go from all players.
Cheers
